Not commenting on this post, but the fact that the UPC really is a small connected world. I doubt anyone here knows me, but I too have posted enough information about myself that someone who did know me could figure out who I was.
If your truly want anonymity, don't say what state you live or lived in, don't give information about your background or other people you know, things you have done, anything. Someone will recognize you, because anyone can be on the internet as a guest, and the UPC is not that large an organization.

I can understand people's desire to post anonymously, and I have no problem with that. I do, not because I'm afraid something I'll say will bite me, but because I just feel a person should be careful on the internet.
I do NOT understand, and never will understand, people's need to send threatening PM's. I just received another one, and let me tell you that the next one I receive, I will make public. When I left my former church for another one, it was because of the abusive behavior of the pastor. When I left, he made some horrible accusations. I can tell you after 2 years of sheer hell, I will NEVER tolerate that again in my life. Never.
So Mal, speaking of some posters not being able to let it go - LET IT GO. And if you want to make that phone call, go right ahead. Truth is, if you had simply been civil to me in the first place, I would have told you what my name is myself! I don't have a problem with you being concerned. I DO have a problem with the way in which you handled it. It is not acceptable.
When I first began posting I remember Coonskinner & Bro. Epley giving me some good advice... Posting is fun and never taken to serious... seems some don't subsribe to those ideals anymore...

If someone wants to maintain anonymity, don't be on the internet at all. I've even found out alternate ID's of posters because I was on at the right time and saw a post made, deleted, then reposted under another name.
Of course, none of that is a big deal to me, and I keep confidences, especially if paid well......LOL!
The point remains.......if you truly want anonymity, don't even be on the internet.

I disagree, HO...why does one have to keep clear of the internet to maintain a certain amount anonymity?!
I know who some are on here and would never dream of 'outing' them...
you know this thing about hiding is funny, all have the right to be who they are, and not be disclosed on this forum, enjoy, but the fact is the playing field is level unless some abuse there authority to try and bother others, live and let live, and be christian, My dad always said even if you are right doesnt always give you the right to say it, amen,dt
