As far as the little girl dying: that didn't really bother me. Death and dying is something that we all have to deal with at some point in life, unfortunately. It's not the first time Disney or Hollywood has broached that subject in one of their movies. Bambi, for example.

The thing that bothered me the most was that there was a scene where the kids are in the back of a pickup either going to or coming home from church. The girl is asking alot of questions. And the answers were so sappy. Kinda like 'everybody's gonna be saved in the end anyway'. That bothered me alot!!! People will go to the movies, watch something like this and figure they don't have to worry about eternity at all because after all, 'everbody's gonna be saved in the end.'

Jeanie, you should be (and I'm sure you ARE) proud of your son!!
Yes you are right we are very proud of him!

I didn't care for the generic universalism remark either, and making light of hell wasn't funny, they sure made it seem like the notion of hell was an "out dated view"

Isn't it great that a kid only 9 years old (totally cute by the way ) is sensitized because of teaching and example when something is unsuitable?

Colby,
Thank you so much for posting your thoughts on the movie. It's wonderful to see that God opened your eyes to see the difference of good and evil. If you keep living for Him, like your mother and father, He will protect you and give you more wisdom.

I'm proud of your judgment on the movie. I didn't hear very many good things about this movie and so I haven't seen it.

You can make a difference among kids your age.

I think you should write the producers and tell them what you think about it. Maybe they keep making these types of movies because kids don't write and tell them what they think!

God bless you, keep you and use you as an instrument of peace and a light in this world.

I'm very proud of him, Jeanie! Kids do have a mind about things that bother them. Please encourage him to write to the producers! He'll never forget about that and it will show him that his opinion matters.

Good words from your kid, btw...
