Chewy mentioned yesterday about people in the mic that rattle off tongues. It would seem by this set of scripture that that isn't biblical?

I would say it is rarely helpful. Nobody is edified. Occasionally a foreigner in the midst of a congregation reports that they heard somebody who didn't know the language say something in their native language.

do you have documented proof of that?

Not that I don't believe you.....but why wouldn't we document stuff like that to dispel critics?

When my inlaws were missionaries in the jungles of Africa, there were a couple of times that people getting the Holy Ghost spoke in English rather than their tribal dialect. But I guess it was never documented on paper back then.

I always thought this was strange... I have never heard 1 Cor. addressed in preaching with proper context. It is always cherry picking the verses... hmmm...
