Back in high school, a friend's dad had two pintos. One was a white coupe, black limo tint windows, mag wheels and big fat tires, carpeted interior (I mean the dash, everything), souped up motor. The thing would burn rubber like you wouldn't believe.

The other was a red Pinto station wagon (two door). Red carpeting everywhere inside, monster stereo system, mag wheels, and the back window panels replaced with bubble windows (you know, like on the old 70s era cruisin vans).

It was quite a sight when a red Pinto station wagon pulled up all tricked out and ten long haired hippies got out with a massive cloud of smoke rolling out the doors. It was even funnier seeing a small white Pinto coupe roll up and the same ten hippies climb out of THAT little toy.

lol

Re: Your Favorite Vehicle

Loved my 97' corolla. It went 360k miles and lasted me through my teenage and college years. I was rough on that car. Badly damaged the axel driving off a steep embankment as I was starting up the mountain on my 45 minute commute to college (It almost flipped on me). Got it towed out and miraculously didn't get a ticket and drove on to college. The car normally went great in the snow though I once got stuck in the snow and backed into a fence post trying to get it out. I was going up a large ruted gravel driveway I probably shouldn't have been trying to go up. Hit our porch as a slid through the wet grass in the yard. The hood flew up and flew off going through town. The casing for the marker light beside the headlight flew off going down the highway. Side swiped a guard rail not 1 mile from my house going about 5 mph. The locked in the car would freeze in the winter and once you got them unlocked and the door opened it wouldn't latch back, so you had to force the lock down where it would freeze in place again and you had to wait on it to dethaw to unlock it. Cops loved to follow you in the thing too. It was so beat up they just knew they were going to get them a drug bust or DUI eventually.
