The lobster was shipped from Australia-- If the hamburger was 50$ thats a whole lot better than 400-500$

That must happen more in big cities, eh? I can't think of a single restaurant in our area that would be able to get $400 for ANY meal. You're right about supply and demand. Maybe the demand is just not here.

We can get it pretty cheap here. The coast is only 2.5 hours to the west.

we're a long ways from the coast of anything. But lobster is still not $400. That seriously blows me away. If a waitress has said to me that the lobster was going to cost that much, she would have had to help pick me up off the floor where I'd fallen off my chair. And then, I'm afraid I would have been tempted to get up and leave. I would have known that I was in a place that was far out of my range! Man, oh man, I hate it when we have to pay $20-$25 for a meal.
