Voter id laws racist but gun I'd laws not?

There are many reasons I have to show my ID. Even just using a credit card often requires ID (unless the clerk is lax about secure practices, which many are). None of them are racist. The racism "dog whistle" has been blown far too frequently for it to have any meaning anymore. Like the boy who cried wolf, we just don't care enough to listen.

If anyone thinks this is hyperbole, then they just haven't talked to people who actually lived under communism or actually dealt with communists.

These 'liberal leftists' are not 'idiots' who 'just can't think straight'. They are the advance guard of revolution. They are also the 'useful idiots' who will be the first to go once the revolution is completed. What's happening in America is old news, it's just everyone is suffering from the 'good German syndrome': "No, really, it can't be happening here, why that's just craaaaaazy talk..."

I was thinking more along the lines that if voter id laws are illegal then Shouldn't gun id laws be illegal for the same reasons?

Precedent is being set. We can win the war on guns bu bringing forward such cases forward if the voter id laws actually get struck down. It's all connected.

If it's harder for minority's to vote without an id then it's harder for them to buy guns as well.

Having to show your ID is a non issue. GOPers want another ID to vote. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Want to really get rid of voter fraud? Bring back paper ballots.

We still have paper ballots here in Nebraska. And the GOP doesn't want a different ID specifically for voting, just a valid ID (such as a state issued ID or a driver's license).

Whether you believe voter id laws matter or not it baffles me how anyone can argue that requiring an ID to do something is discriminatory. Whether it's buying a gun, buying a beer, applying for a credit card, driving a car, etc...

Willfully ignoring history does not change history.

There are historic reasons why things are the way they are and when you have, in 21st century America, state governors and state lawmakers making statements that show intent to reduce voter turn out of certain American demographics via the passing of certain laws, then those laws are automatically unlawful.

Even if said laws seem good, the intent they are birthed from is malevolent.
