I may be simple here, but why is this a big deal if the pastor is going to remain UPC? I thought most churches themselves weren't affilliated anyway.

What I do find to be a little inconsiderate is for the church to schedule the vote duruing campmeeting knowing full well all District officials normally attend.

Are you serious ... you put the man's integrity on the line and his livelihood and you're worried about scheduling ...
