Check this out:
Rev 14:6
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
KJV
Who is the angel in rev 14:6???
|
The context of necessity makes the a celestial being not so with the Angel of each church found in chapters 1-3.

So you actually believe a celestial being preaches to them "dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people"????

BTW I'm still waiting for Bro Epley to prove scripturally the angel of the church is pastor of the church.

Then are we to assume their was only one pastor in Laodicea, Ephesus, Phildelphia etc??? ... I have to believe their were multiple congregations in these large cities ...

The bible speaks of only one church in each city. I also believe they were run by multple elders with various ministerial gifts. for example the
Acts 13:1
13:1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
KJV
The Church at antioch had prophetS and teacherS. Not the prophet or the teacher.
It's clear they had a different structure and what took place in services.

I think that you are both right. There were likely many smaller groups that came together corporately per their city.
You can read in the Epistles wherein many various groups and peoples were mentioned in one epistle addressed to one area or church.
