GQ Attacks Ben Carson: Racist To Attack Black Con?

I won't post the link but GQ has a commentary that is laced with cursing talking about how stupid Ben Carson is.

If ANYONE would say these things about our President they would be called a racist. But when the African American is a strong Christian Conservative, he's fair game.

The bottom of the totem poll of who you can attack in the media is white male conservatives. Just below that is a black male conservative. Alan Keyes, Clarence Thomas, Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, Herman Cane, and now Ben Carson.

If you are ultra liberal, you are intelligent, intellectual, and brilliant. Conservatives are always attacked as stupid baffoons. It's an old tactic. Liberals truly are sophomoric with their arguments. They can win arguments on the merits of their positions so they turn into 7th graders and call conservatives "stupid" and go personal with their attacks.

Ben Carson believes in Creation. He is a strong Christian. He is outspoken about his belief that Islam is dangerous for this country. He isn't politically correct. And horrors of all horrors---he doesn't follow the groupthink of the AA community and vote for and support our President and the Democrat Party.

Shame on GQ. Shame on liberals who cannot debate Carson on the merits of their arguments. Shame on those who personally attack BC because he doesn't march lockstep with their ideology.

I dont think Ben Carson is stupid. He had said some stupid things. I think he is doing thing because he is playing to his conservative audience.

He has said the things he has said because it makes him more attractive to MANY GOP voters and to me, that is sad.

It is sad because the tactics he used is what it takes to consistently poll well with the GOP.

It doesn't matter what GQ says about him. What matters is that among his constituents, he is doing fine. However, very few conservatives see the foulness of this.

I'd like to read GQ's criticisms of Carson to see if there are any racial throwbacks or overtones.

DB,
There wasn't anything racist in the GQ article. It wasn't the most intelligent critique of any GOP'er I've ever read, but there wasn't any racial overtones or racial throwbacks or anything racial at all about the article.

Has GQ ever had anything good to say about a GOP candidate?

What has BC said that is stupid? I don't think he panders to anyone. I think he speaks what he believes.

What has he said, in your opinion, that didn't reflect his true feelings and opinions?

My point was that if a conservative column would have called the president stupid and used personal attacks such as the GQ article, the racist card would've been played. But all it takes is for conservatives to oppose the president's policies and governance and we get accused of racism. It's a shallow tactic because it basically absolves the president of his poor leadership and management of our economy, healthcare system, and his assault on the Constitution. The vast majority of us oppose the president on the merits of his actions and our ideology. The vast majority have no issue with his ethnicity. But whenever he gets opposition, the accusation of racism arises.

But when AA conservatives emerge, they get attacked brutally by the media and especially their fellow AAs. I have an AA friend who is vitriolic about Clarence Thomas---was even in a church service with him once and he wouldn't go shake the man's hand. When I asked why he is so angry about CT, he can't tell me. He just can't stand him. I know why. It's because CT is an example of someone who can cite being treated horribly by racists, had to overcome insurmountable odds to get an education, to be accepted in the best schools, to become the man he is today---yet he doesn't blame white America, nor does he align himself with liberal ideology.

The AA community has become such a monolithic voting bloc for Democrats that any person that is an anomaly to the carefully constructed characterization of the GOP---that we are a bunch of white racist males---that person will get the worst of treatment by the media and the Democrat party, especially from the AA community. Uncle Tom, liar, philanderer, stupid, etc will all be thrown his way in order to discredit and diminish his candidacy. The worst thing that could ever happen to the liberal movement would be a black conservative President or Vice President. The whole house of cards that only the Democrat party is the welcome place for AAs would come tumbling down.
