Sis. Sarah Elizabeth,
I think you will find the bolded to be biblical. Not all older women are
qualified to teach when they have been married numerous times. Why
would anyone even consider ask someone under those conditions.
The apostle Paul instructed young Timothy as to some do's and don'ts.
Paul was fathering him in the gospel. Timothy's dad was a greek and was
not a believer. His grandmother and mother were believers and Paul had
watched their faithfulness. He knew who had raised Timothy. He knew
that he had from a child he had known the holy scriptures, which were able
to make him wise unto salvation, through faith which was in Christ Jesus.
There is such a need for teaching, the older to the younger. Jesus called
that generation in which he was on earth, an untoward (not easily guided)
generation. Solomon was given wisdom, but his example before his son,
young Rehoboam was certainly lacking as his son watched many strange
women to turn his dad's heart away from the One True God. And when a
older faithful servant of Solomon's tried to tell him what the older faithful
wanted, he inquired of the young men and listened to them instead. It
split the kingdom. Ten and two. Judah and Isreal became two kingdoms.
There is a need for teachers and there is a desperated need for examples
of what is right. God is the God of Righteousness.
Blessings,
