Re: Question about Acts 2:38: What about the marty
Shaz, in reading your posts here on almost every other thread, I come away with the following impressions:
1. Anyone who thinks the Bible teaches that there is ONE WAY ONLY to eternal life is lost and hasn't found the ONE WAY TO ETERNAL LIFE. (which is a contradiction, your view contradicts itself.)
2. Muslims are generally good, loving, kind and saved people and Christians are generally boorish, unloving, lost, hypocrites. Jesus accepts Muslims but not Christians.
3. Anyone who disagrees with you is blind, ignorant, and probably lost.
Based on all my life experiences, both as a Christian and from before I ever was a Christian, my conclusion is you are off in la-la land, you live in a fantasy world and probably don't actually interact too much with real people in the real world. I've met quite a few people with the same general attitude you have, whether it's religion, politics, general life issues, sports, whatever... you all display a complete lack of familiarity with basic reasoning skills and think way too highly of yourselves. As well as being completely hypocritical: everything you condemn in others you actually do yourself.
Like a democrat liberal screaming for "Tolerance of all beliefs!" while also demanding some particular belief system be outlawed and its adherents rounded up and executed.
In other words, you come across as being quite off your rocker. No offense, but that's how you come across.

ok well you guys just do your best to make this about anything other than your hard hearts. i never denied that you might have perfect Scriptural indications for why Muslims are lost. All of them. Every single one. Now, you can latch onto that, and pretend I'm agreeing with you if you like.
Then, when one of them is in heaven, and you are in hell, because your heart has been judged, all of those passages in the Bible that you just skip over, because after all they apply to someone else, might become clearer. I get no benefit from coming here--i am aware of your doctrine already. Keep searching for passages to imply that your position is correct--you will find them!

there is only one way, and it is Christ. This is a SPIRITUAL principle, that has been presented to you as SOMETHING YOU DO WITH YOUR MOUTH, even while there are many, many passages that will tell you that there are people who will not agree with your words, your version, that are nonetheless accepted by God.

i suggest, since this was never intended, and you cannot quote it, that you change your mind, even in a fake-it-til-you-make-it kind of way, and reread those pretending you are a Muslim. There is no difference in the two groups, both are just nations of people, no group is respected above any other, any individual in any group will be judged in the same way that they judge, and it will be measured to them in the same way that they measure.
I follow Christ as best i am able, just like you, and so i speak to those who say "They are all lost" to point out that this declaration will not cause a single Muslim to go to hell, and neither will it save a single Christian. What it will do is expose the premises of the declarer, who will find justifications for their declaration--because they sought them, and not because a true statement ever needs to be justified--so that they may continue to deceive themselves and others with the same deficient premises.

excellent--then, since your peers have deigned to not touch upon why the priest is justified in telling the Good Samaritan why he is lost, perhaps you might like to take a whack at it.

Word doesn't matter. You can mischaracterize and judge whose heart is hard while accusing us of the same. You point the finger at hard hearts, yet can't see as judging, and think someone hates when simply pointing out everything means nothing if it's salvation by works. You think we don't understand and practice being kind because you judge a few posts on a forum. You don't believe a person can love the neighbor if the person says doctrine matters.
What a particular judge you've made yourself. One can save themselves by works, and those who trust in God's work are lost because they point out that detail of all details.
How does it feel?

i cannot judge anyone's heart, as i am not qualified, and i have said this; what i can do is see that stating "All ________ are lost" is not the loving reprimand that you imagine it to be; it is a self serving sop to your ego, that allows you to imagine that you are saved, so you don't have to seek God anymore. And my mirroring "You are lost" back at you, with superior Scriptural support--because, after all, the Good Samaritan is accepted, while the priest is not--is meant as illumination, not condemnation, and just throwing it back at me is to deliberately miss the point, and to continue to avoid answering the implication. You are as forgiven as anyone, when you confess and abandon a particular sin.
i have already denied that one might save themselves by works, and even the good deed of the Samaritan did not save him; and yet he was saved. Hmm. You are not lost because you point out some detail, but because you demonstrate that you do not want to touch Scriptural subjects put before your eyes like ten times now, but prefer to keep beating the dead works horse. I am realizing now that you cannot even read those posts, and , as Benincasa has said, they make no sense to you guys. They may as well be in Swahili.
Doctrine matters, and you can love your neighbor in the face of it, which is why i repeat that you are lost, and if you remain in the belief that All Muslims Are Lost, you will go to hell for it. I have provided Scriptural proof for this, and i will not continue this circular, pointless conversation with you any longer, until you address the real subject, which has nothing to do with Muslims.

How can ego enter into it when salvation is of God with nothing for us to boast of?
You judge and say don't judge. You accuse of what you call hard hearts and then say you don't judge hearts. You confuse the whole word with a people who practice salvation by works saying they can be saved while we're lost. You determine who is hell bound, not the word.
You're not even trying. You purposely talk past others. You focus on what is a given to everyone here.
Enjoy yourself.
