I do believe the KJV is the best English translation out there, all things considered. I also believe regular use of the KJV usually results in advancing one's analytical and thinking skills, reading comprehension, etc.
Although some things in this thread have made me doubt that lately...

To me this says everything. Sean, apparently you don't even have enough faith to believe that the Holy Ghost would lead a person, even in their choice of Bible version. Sad.

Great advice Sean!

When I have taught, I have had students doubt I was teaching truth, as they had never seen it in their preferred Bible, but when I would have them look in the Bible of their choice, the one they brought to the Bible study, it takes on legitimacy as to what I am teaching as it is found, not only in my preferred version, but in the version they brought in as well. That is more powerful than discrediting one version over another at that point in their learning experience.
I know too, I have had to interject or interpret some, somewhat archaic words found within the KJV to the students, as it is not the common vernacular of todays English speakers. So even as good as the KJV may be, it is not always a stand alone comprehensible version.

Just use a dictionary when you dont understand a certain word....the KJV was written for grade school level readers(unlike modern versions with modern words),
If we cant get it, what does that say for our vocabulary skills.
Bowas, watch this and tell me what you think, okay.....
