I read they only needed 51 votes for it to pass, but regardless, I already noted that Rubio didn't even read the bill. The only reason I'm "hammering" Cruz is for his position and unfortunate statement about the bill.

I still like Cruz, I just don't get why politicians will made bad deals on bills like this. There shouldn't be a question on voting against it, especially when you make a statement about how bad it is. Makes no sense to me.

"This is a bad bill! It's an awful bill! But I'm still going to vote for it unless I'm forced not to."

That was his position. That was what the basis of TPA should have been, but it turned out that it wasn't, so he didn't vote in favor. Good grief!

He said that TWO things came out after the first vote on TPA -Wikileaks put out a portion of the text of the Trade and Services Agreement, which changes immigration laws of the signatory countries involved.

At the time TPA, initially, came up for a vote, Jeff Sessions introduced an amendment along with Ted Cruz adding it to the TPA to make it explicit no trade deal can impact immigration law, and that anyone who attempted to impact immigration law wouldn't be subject to Fast-Track. Although they didn't get the amendments approved, but because of the leaked text, Cruz told leadership he wouldn't support the TPA without the immigration amendments being approved.

Of course, the second thing, was the EX-IM Bank being reauthorized as a backroom deal to get a vote on the TPA.

So, all of these issues are a process and I do not see the problem with the path that Ted Cruz has taken.

More so, his position highlights the problems and makes the GOP Establishment accountable - thus - helping his presidential campaign.

I'm glad he changed his mind. I agree there's a process. Again, my issue is that even with these two changes and in spite of how bad a bill he said it was, he was still going to vote for it unless he was "forced" not to do so by them not agreeing to his demands.

That's all. Cruz is great, I just disagreed on this.

You still do not understand. He highlighted the issue the GOP Establishment has with Cronyism. He did the same thing with the H1B Visa issue. It wasn't about the Visas, but the Crony Corporatists.

His legislation leaves them standing like a deer in the headlight. Boehner is a jerk, who when asked about Ted Cruz, held up his middle finger. What a jerk.

I have no allusions that someone like Ted Cruz could win the presidency without the populist.

Ted Cruz Scores Another Foreign Policy Victory

One week after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced legislation to fine the State Department for delaying its annual report on Iran’s human rights record, the Obama administration is acceding to his demand and finally producing the report.

Boehner is an embarrassment and, yes, a jerk.

I'm surprised he didn't cry when they asked him about Cruz. I'm sure Cruz haunts his dreams at night!

I am sure he does.
