Yeah all he is saying is they were funded. We knew that. It was in the news when the rebels first started fighting Syria they were funded along with other groups there to fight against Syria..
Thats not the same as starting ISIS. ISIS already existed in one form or another

hmm, pretty damning quote, it seems to me; but ty, i'll check it out!
And even if the quote is accurate, i will say that this still does not mean the US intended them to go down their current path, etc. Everyone in our gov is not a monster, by far. A case can be made for Hezbollah resistance, i would imagine.
Also, many here did not realize what you apparently have.

Taliban got started through funding and the CIA...but we didn't actually start the Taliban.

And if Hussein were still alive, a lot of other people in Iraq likely wouldn't be. Let's not pretend he was some saint, keeping the peace over there. He was a mass-murdering lunatic, who killed his own people, including his sons-in-law. He had to go, regardless.
