I was pretty pleased with Wellemeyers performance. It wasn't fabulous, but it was solid. But what really makes me happy is the fact that Rolen seems to have finally gotten hot.

Bishop....To a lot of people ("UCons" really)....if a UPC minister was spotted at a sporting event...they would be THE TALK of the section (and if prominent) the organization as a whole.

Early this year I was at a game b/w Cards and the Pirates, and I heard somebody shout my name...I looked over in the next section and there was a sectional youth leader from our district...lol...

Immediately I began spreading nasty rumours about him... jk

Anyway, the Cardinals team chaplain used to be Vic Votaw...I don't know if it still is, but it used to be, so I figure they've been blessed.

nothing against you personally bishop but this is just another example of the major inconsistancies in the UPCI. ONes that have me holding little respect for many.

I don't have a problem with sports... but don't the powers that be!!!!! What is the definition of the Articles of Faith? Do you also have a TV in your home?

How about THIS STORY....

A feeeeeeeew years ago, I was at our Sectional Youth Rally. The speaker was one of the pastors in the section (looooong gone) and he was preaching HARD about not going to sporting events....that they were of the devil....and all of that nonsense. Well, THE NEXT DAY....my father, brother and I were at the Padres game. Down the steps walks....yes...the pastor. The SAME PASTOR who preached the night before that this was of the devil and to FLEE from it.

If that happened today...I would have gone right up to the pastor and said....Bro. _____, what a great message you preached last night.
