My point

THE LIFE OF THE FLESH IS IN THE BLOOD

In the thread “Apostolic but not believing that Jesus is the Father”, I made a statement that got a rather prickly response. I said:

If Mary provided the physical DNA for His humanity, then the birth of Jesus was in violation of the biological laws that His Father created. If instead Mary provided one-half of the physical DNA for His humanity, then the other half came from His Father, and indeed, the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us...and we beheld His glory as the only begotten of the Father.[/QUOTE]

Pray forgive the delay in my response. Prax’s first request was a terse “prove it”. My brother, you ask me to prove what is scientific fact throughout the libraries of the world. This, from one of the smartest guys I know. I guess you could try “A CHILD IS BORN”, by Lennart Nilsson…or any of hundreds of others.

In my humble opinion; scripture doesn’t give us the latitude to speculate on what happened in the womb of Mary.

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

If then he was made like us, then we should be awestruck at how us are made. It takes 23 chromosomes from a mother, and 23 chromosomes from a father, to make one of us. We narrow down the 23 from a mother in the virgin Mary. And that leaves us with the miracle of Emmanuel.

Prax’s second question was an equally terse “so what?” Well, it is again my opinion; that if folks understood the beauty of the miracle of Emmanuel, we wouldn’t have the cacophony of confusion on this forum about person and mode and hypostasis and personalities, ad infinitum.

The miracle of 23 chromosomes from God fusing with 23 chromosomes from Mary, is the Son of God made like unto his brethren. God has long chosen to create through his Word, and to visit his creation through his Spirit.

But the real beauty behind “ the Word was made flesh”, rests in the chemistry of blood. To be fair, I painstakingly wrote about this blood-based miracle in my post “Emmanuel”. I believe the response was “your point?”

My point was that the law of sin is resident in the bloodstreams of every human being ever born. The cellular wonder of how that happens was the point. It unlocks the mystery of why the Son of God was the only human ever born with sinless blood. It is a medical marvel too wonderful to tell.

Re: My point

I agree wholeheartedly! It IS a matter of the "blood" that was the differential aspect of the "Son of man" which set Him apart from mankind.

The "blood" is the ONLY thing that the fetus creates via its own bone marrow, and is also the ONLY thing that does NOT pass between mother and fetus by way of the umbilical cord.

Because the "blood" of the Christ child, Emmanuel, was sinless, then the shedding of that blood was the ONLY acceptable sacrifice the Father would accept in atoning for the sins of all mankind.

However, with that being stated, I would enjoy reading your explanation of His fleshly substance. Was it also sinless, unlike that of all mankind?

If he was made like us, then his fleshly substance is no different than yours. But what corrupts the flesh is sin...more specifically the law of sin. That law of sin is passed from father to child via the laws of pro-creation...those 23 chromosomes that the father brings to the table...and as I stated, resides in that 90,000 miles of tubing inside you that feeds oxygen...the breath of life...to every single part of the fleshly substance. If that blood is infected with the law of sin, then is the fleshly substance corrupted. Such are all since Adam.

In Jesus, this was not the case. The 23 chromosomes provided by God did not have the law of sin infection that is passed by the father at conception. And as you know, since all babies produce their own blood supply...untainted by the mothers blood...then the sinless blood flowing in Jesus' veins was life to the fleshly substance, and not death.
