I guess you have a point, there. Angels are pretty hot-tempered!

Good catch. As if the celebrity status of an angel (whom it seems can take-it-or-leave concerning food and other natural needs) is more important than the premise to help a real human, who really does need to eat. It figures.

I have no problem treating a meal to an Angel.
Angels are great and mighty, you should fear their wrath.
They have a direct connection to the Big Boss.

Well except for the angels with which you might be sharing a nice lake.

Except that neither I nor (I'm pretty sure) Marc believe they actually exist. But you have missed the point: what is our reason for being kind to others? Is it to avoid an angel's wrath (just in case) or is it to actually help other real humans because they need help?

Some writers of the Bible seem to be empathy-challenged, and seem to believe everyone else is, too.

Re: Timmy Talk

And come to think of it, many of the Christians I know aren't very kind to strangers -- especially strangers on street corners holding cardboard signs (for example).

In which corner are you there holding a sign, so I can go and drop something in your tin can.

And neither would I. So show me one! If the Angel's surname is Cabrera, he's already a millionaire. But if he's going to put in a good word for me with your "Big Boss," okay, I'll treat!

Threats and appeal to fear are so necessary when there's no good evidence, otherwise believers would cite the evidence instead of relying on 10th Century tactics. At least the claims about the Christian pantheon of spirit beings are no better nor worse than various competing systems of different pantheons of spirit beings. All patterned after human ideals, human foibles, human empathy, human crimes. Some meaner than others, some nicer than others. Big deal.

It is not a threat, the Angels which betrayed God and sided with Satan will be cast into the lake of fire along with their master. It will happened.

The bible says that hell was created for the devil and his angels. It was not created for humans, unfortunately some humans will land there because they too have chosen to side with the devil. People choose to side with Satan when they reject God, it is a simple fact.

Thanks for the reminder, Flaming, and I'm not being sarcastic in saying that. You have again reminded me of what other people thought when I would spout my Christian rhetoric at them, to them, or "for" them, for over 22 years. Why did it take me so long to figure out how pockmarked and manmade the Holy Babble is--its level of fantasy approximately on par with other competing "unerring" texts, such as the koran or Book of Moron? And if not for a couple Roman emperors putting the power of Rome's sword behind the spread of christianity, it might not have seeped into my life, my culture, my parents (who were raised Catholic.) Too bad, but better late than never.

The Omnipotent, Omniscient Yahweh: "Oops, I need more storage space, I guess. Hey Gabe, tell Mikey we might need another work order signed for when Adam's kids come along in a few million generations. But I'm not too sure, so wait till they sin first, just to be fair, 'kay?"

Facts are supposed to bring with them strong, demonstrable evidence. Religious ideas and beliefs therefore do not qualify, except apparently to other religious minds. But that also means the "facts" to a muslim or a Mormon compete with the "facts" to a christian. What a silly weight to keep hanging on the neck of modern humanity.

OK Let us talk facts.
The Bible mentions Jerusalem, Egypt and the River Jordan.

Is it a fact that there is such a city as Jerusalem? Yes or No
Is it a fact that there is such a country as Egypt? Yes or No
Is it a fact that there is such a river as the Jordan? Yes or No

All the geography of the Bible actually exists, those are factual places where bombs are currently falling (Gaza)
Even the supposed "mythical" cities of the Bible have been found.

Is there no such a person as King Hezekiah, even the often denied King David has been finally acknowledge by atheists.
Those people were factual human beings who actually existed
So the biographies of the Bible are based on actual human beings who actually existed.

So we have seen that the geography and the biography of the Bible are actually based on real facts. why should we not believe that the actual history of the Bible should be not factual? Actually all the evidence actually points to the history of the Bible being quite accurate.

I have shown you actual facts in the Bible that no serious atheist will ever deny.
