Relax, the flaming sword of the Lord is not yet to be used, we are in the days of harvest, but the days of vengeance will come.
Revelation tell us one day he will come in raging wrath, a day of woe and destruction upon his enemies. When that day comes the whole world will see the flaming sword of vengeance descend upon them. but until then God is extending mercy.
Destruction of people just titillates you folks doesn't it. How exciting the thought of that must be.
Answer: Because all our experiences in earthly real life define wickedness according to BEHAVIOR, but according to Holey Bible literalism, wickedness equals "those who perish due to wrong beliefs."
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
I wonder how those who wield "flaming swords" are judged?

Do not many muslims likewise eagerly imagine Yawm-ad-Din per Sura 75, hadith, etc?
HM What I have observed is that when your own skin depends on what you do today rather than what you did years ago when you "got saved" you are much less enthusiastic about the events referenced in Surah 75/76.

This situation was foreseen by Jesus, of course. He chided Thomas, who would not believe the word of the others until he saw for himself (same as all the disciples), and said those who would believe without seeing (like us today) would be "blessed". Yeah, I guess that makes sense: have even more faith than the disciples had, who spent years with Jesus, and there better be some kind of reward!
None of the people who supposedly spent years with Jesus seemed to recognize him after he was supposedly resurrected. Why would that be?
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”
And morning being now come, Jesus stood at the shore, yet indeed the disciples did not know that it is Jesus;
Jesus, therefore, saith to them, `Lads, have ye any meat?'
they answered him, `No;' and he said to them, `Cast the net at the right side of the boat, and ye shall find;' they cast, therefore, and no longer were they able to draw it, from the multitude of the fishes.
Jesus saith to them, `Come ye, dine;' and none of the disciples was venturing to inquire of him, `Who art thou?'
That very day two of them were going to a village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and they were talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. And he said to them, “What is this conversation that you are holding with each other as you walk?” And they stood still, looking sad. Then one of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”

Good question. I don't know. Not even sure what great theological "truth" it may be intended to impart to us. What are your thoughts, Wii?
