George Zimmerman Trial Live Streaming

There are two pages on Facebook right now:

"RIOT for Trayvon Martin"
"Kill george zimmerman (blank) (blank)"

I reported both for threats of violence, per Facebook's reporting tool.

It took Facebook about 20 minutes to respond to the "Kill" page. I got a message that it was reviewed, but not removed because it was not considered a credible threat of violence and didn't violate their TOS.

I'm waiting for the next response, although I've seen several posts that others have reported the "RIOT" group and FB refused to remove it because they didn't feel it was a credible threat.

This is after Facebook suspended FoxNew's Todd Starnes and removed this quote from his timeline (it was against TOS):

"I'm about as politically incorrect as you can get. I'm wearing an NRA ball cap, eating a Chick-fil-A sandwich, reading a Paula Deen cookbook and sipping a 20-ounce sweet tea while sitting in my Cracker Barrel rocking chair with the Gaither Vocal Band singing 'Jesus Saves' on the stereo and a Gideon's Bible in my pocket. Yes sir, I'm politically incorrect and happy as a June bug."

Hmm....interesting. No threats of riots, violence or murder. Just a funny quote about political incorrectness. So apparently, I can start a Facebook page "RIOT if Zimmerman found guilty" and be ok. I could probably even start a page "Kill the rioters" and Facebook should let it stand per the precedent they set. However, I cannot write a post about being politically incorrect.

If I were the prosecution...I would really be wary of putting her or TM's father on the stand. What could she possibly be questioned about the 6 or 7 minutes in which the confrontation and killing happened? She didn't even know he was dead until hours later. Same for the father.

Is she going to try to be a character witness for TM? If that's the case, it opens up the door to some unpleasant stuff for TM. I know the Judge helped the Pros by not allowing text messages to be admitted...but I would think beyond that, the Def would have an open door on questioning her.

The first question I'd ask is what led to TM moving to his fathers; followed by whose decision it was for him to move; finally ending with asking her if she kicked him out. They'd have to work on the questions and it would be tip-toeing the line, since the Judge will likely grant any objection raised by Pros. Also, since the disallowed text messages from TM are the source of the information, it would be difficult to address.

Those texts from TM should have been admitted. I told PO in another thread before trial that I didn't believe them to be relevant. I was wrong. He texts about drugs, guns, getting suspended from school and getting kicked out of the house by his mom. One of his tweets, "Im gangsta."

Doesn't sound like a sweet, young boy.

David, Remember O'Mara's interview with Sharpton. He said that he hopes he doesn't have to bring out some of the things he has about TM, but will if the trial goes in that direction - words to effect.

I agree, they better be careful of putting TM's mother on the stand. It could get really ugly (for the viewing audience) after that.

State of Florida puts out photos of TM at crime scene - doesn't look like a "child" to me. Three photos for viewing. Warning: He is, of course, dead in the photos.

(3) A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.

Also, I am understanding that this Criminal Attorney in FL, Richard Hornsby who is commenting on this case, is saying (I am looking for a link to verify) that the Judge, Nelson, has a history of being hostile to the Defense, this is her last criminal case and has been demoted from criminal court back to divorce court.

On another defense case, she got slapped down very hard by the appeals court because, she refused to give self-defense instruction. The appeals court stated that she was unable to understand plain language law statutes.

Kind of allows you to see why she is presiding over this racially charged case.

West asking for the Judge to resolve an issue getting Crump deposed. Crump wants the deposition on Sunday at 6pm, West says that doesn't work with them.

Wow...Judge just mentioned that the State may rest today. That's shocking. If the State does rest today, they've absolutely failed at proving anything beyond a reasonable doubt.

This Judge is a jerk. Sorry. She's been against giving the Defense any time to prepare from the beginning.

How can the Pros expect this to be done with today? Especially if they bring either of TM's parents up.
