Hey Jermyn -- you say Obama needed to speak on the case before any facts were known because he's the Prez and should do so. I disagreed; however, I changed my mind.

Obama should step up to the mic and say something about it again.

He should tell people to tone it down and stop with the death threats. He should address the thugs and wannabe thugs who are flooding twitter, fb and instagram with death threats; both aimed at GZ and White / Hispanic people. He should tell black young people that violence against Whites/Hispanics will only end with more people dead - on all sides.

If he TRULY wants to help, he'll stand up to the black community and tell them that any violence will not be tolerated; that anyone who follows through with a threat to kill a White / Hispanic person will be prosecuted with a hate crime and have the full weight of the law on them.

If he's really interested in helping out, he'll tell Sharpton and other black leaders to calm down the rhetoric and rage building in the black community.

But I won't hold my breath.

Here's my wild theory or prediction.

GZ gets an acquitted and racial tensions sore and riots may follow. Now with the recent gun control scare and the influx of guns and ammo bought recently we may have a real dangerous atmosphere in certain high population cities. And finally with an all out war going on and cops unable to quell the citizens and not knowing which side is which we may go into martial law.

Just wondering if a train of events like such is remotely possible.

When you consider that unemployment for youth is at a high, and black unemployment is also near an all-time high; and with it being the middle of summer....things are ripe for a large-scale riot.

Which is why Obama, Sharpton, TM's parents and other leaders in the black community better start talking to the people and promote peace, instead of violence. It will be their fault if riots do break out.

I don't 'do' Twitter, but are there black people who are pleading with the others posting death threats that it's not what should be done? I read the link but it's just posting the death threats. Surely there are black folks posting against that mess!

I have not seen one tweet against either protest or violence if GZ walks. If someone sees any, please post a link.
