I agree with you Thad. Have you ever seen what happens to a black woman's hair when she doesn't get it cut and it keeps growing and growing? Eventually the weight of the hair causes the curl to fall down quite a bit. It doesn't just keep growing into a larger and larger ball shaped afro looking thing. Wanna know how I know? I am married to a black woman that has gone for years before without cutting her hair. Some people need to stop thinking they can speak for people of other races and what they think.
Oh puhleeze....get your reading glasses on and read where I said MANY.....not ALL!
I have several black female friends who don't have hair past their neck and they haven't cut it in several years.
So your wife is a black woman who can grow hair. Good for her. Not all black women can do that. In fact, more can't than can. Not if they are truly black without other races mixed in.

Trouvere ours wear extensions wigs and braids. all that pressing and straigtening perms eventually cause them to go bald no kidding.
anyhow, what do you think or what do you think THEY would think of the comments made here ??
I'm puzzled as to what you think was wrong with anything I said. Please quote me and comment on each quote because I have no idea what you are seeing. I just stated the facts about their hair and the fact that I have yet to see black people have long hair discussions like us white folks (mostly) have. Nothing wrong with saying that.

you are right I went to a black UC UPC church for a while when I was in college. They just don't really focus on the hair thing at all. My hair was cut when I started going and they still called me sister and did not treat me any different.
I also attended a black church where me and my children were the only white people there and they also don't say anything about hair, and most of the women not only wore hats, but some had extensions or wigs, and those that didn't had hair no longer than the tops of their shoulders.
They are oneness Apostolic.

I don't know but I am sure Yael on GNC could give me her honest opinion.I will get back to you.Alot of women friends of mine wear wigs. Some of them are very nice. One of the ladies I work with always calls me beautiful and her Dana especially when she comes into my office for a cup of coffee. She goes to a local charismatic church here. Her wigs look just like they are her real hair.
I would never want to offend her as she has the most beautiful spirit.
I don't think she envies my hair.God made us both and made us both the way we are.I always compliment her because frankly you can't help it.I really think the most beautiful hairdo on a woman of color as Oprah puts it is the crown
french braid. You don't have to do anything but use some creme hair conditioner. Its really classy.
Maybe I should wear a toupee but wouldn't that be worldly ?

There they can find plenty of fault.
Please have her read my comments and see if anything is racist or judgemental in them, or if I was just making factual statements as I see them.
I will ask.She is not easily offended and I like to read what she says.It gives me a different viewpoint. What would the world be if we all agree all the time.It would be boring.
