Re: Is It UnGodly to Not Vote?

Snippet: Once again, the Republican Party is being tempted to vote for “the lesser of two evils”. A lot of Republicans are actually considering voting for Mitt Romney because they have bought the lie that he has “the best chance” of defeating Barack Obama in 2012. But just because he is the Republican candidate that is most like Barack Obama does not mean that he has the best chance of defeating him. The truth is that no self-respecting Republican should ever vote for Mitt Romney. A vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for the New World Order. Romney comes from the financial establishment, he is being showered with money from the financial establishment and he supports all of the goals of the financial establishment. This year, millions upon millions of dollars are being funneled into Romney’s campaign and into pro-Romney organizations. The New World Order is literally trying to buy the 2012 election for their dream candidate. Romney would be the ultimate Wall Street puppet, and if you cast a vote for Mitt Romney you are playing right into the hands of the financial elite.

If you do not believe that a vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for the New World Order, just consider Mitt Romney’s positions on the issues….

Sure, i understand. And it seems perfectly reasonable to do what you suggest, get invested in the outcome of some political circus, feel like your doing the world, or your community, whatever a favor by being a responsible citizen...you have completely bought the lie, and I honestly am not blaming you. No one ever seems to get what they want, but hey, maybe your guy can get with the other side's guy, and y'all can work out some kind of compromise.

While it is completely understandable for someone to grow up thinking this,
I see no reason for an informed believer to die thinking this. 1 Sam 8 is very clear, and quotes God quite plainly; none of the often apparent ambiguity that might mark another concept. Let me paraphrase a little for you;

"You will become a slave to him,
and I will not even listen to your cries in that day."

So, BAM, participate in choosing the next
deluded individual to defy God, and while you're
at it, counsel others to do the same-
-heck, call 'em stupid for listening to God,
it's ok with me.

"I see the rulers of your nations,
gathering together with their next devious plan to
deny ME; and I am laughing," paraphrased.
That's GOD, LAUGHING at the guy you are voting for.

Peace

Quack. The O dumped all his tree-hugger progressive buddies on
inauguration day, with no warning. The Vampire Squid had dinner
in the White House that night.

Heh byrd. The O wasn't a multimillionaire with funds overseas. Don't think he knows how to tinker with a trillion $ budget. (tic)

"All these kingdoms You see before You
are mine, to do with as I will..."

How much clearer can it be?
The CEO of your country is satan,
and your president works for him, unaware or not.
"Lesser of two evils" should give one
another big clue.

BAM, vote your conscience.

I agree with her.

The moment one begins discussing the "options" they are totally lost.
Not only is it not "un-Godly" to not vote,
it is sacrilege toward God, and displays ones loyalty
to a temporal solution, a worldly one, to vote.

Tell ya what. For every Scripture you quote
(and you only got two ) indicating that one
is possibly supposed to mentally invest in Politics,
I'll give you 5 that clearly indicate that that is the
very system that Christ called lost, and that anyone
who does not believe that politics is their avowed enemy,
let alone some shot at some better life, is doing satan's work.

Obey the law, pray for your leaders. That's it,
if you want God to hear your cries "in that day."
Don't you have to "join" a party to even vote for them?
Don't you know what Scripture says about "joining?"

Re: Is It UnGodly to Not Vote?

Romans 13
13 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
