That has been my thoughts pretty much all along. To release them, would be to stoop to unsavory tactics of the other side, and try Zimmerman in a media circus.
I have confidence in the police, the legal system and the grand jury.

I agree. And if the sole fault lies with Zimmerman, I am glad that they are allowing the legal system to do it's job. Neither of the two has a stellar record.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE
I also listened to the 911 call again and it sounds like to me that he is saying, "*expletive* "punks". I didn't get coon or goon out of that.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE
Although an opinion piece, I tend to agree with it. But, I'm still interested in the facts as they are released...
Column: What's different about Trayvon Martin?
WASHINGTON — If you watch the news in any large city you are probably desensitized to stories about crime involving young black men. Most nights there are reports about several of them getting shot; often, more than one dies.
(skipping a few paragraphs)
The facts in this case are not yet fully known, but that doesn’t stop people from thinking they have them, giving some an excuse to resurrect racial templates from the past. The Washington Post featured this headline last week, “Florida Shooting Stirs Memories of Civil Rights Era.”

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE
At the heart of this circus, is the fact that black leaders in this country, have fostered such distrust for all authority and therefore will not allow law enforcement to do its job without interference. The OJ murders are the most classic example, of which it is very clear that a murderer was set free after murdering two people. The logic: That action in someway balances some of the injustice against black people. That is the distorted thinking of the black community for one reason, the Jesse Jackson' and Al Sharpton's, that really don't give a rip about the welfare of the black community, only their only power. MLK is most likely spinning in his grave!!!!
Of course, there is corruption among some police, and it should be exposed and punished everywhere it is found, but to boardbrush all police is so wrong.
The first thing the media always presents in these cases is the abuse of blacks by whatever PD that is local to the case. Therefore, all evidence to the contrary of the victimization of the black person is patently false and is to be completely ignored. This is supported by the leftist media and picked up by the Jackson's and Sharpton's and then......drumdity, drumdity, drum, drum drum!!! All the sheeple jump into formation and the party line!! Any black that speaks out of the talking points are immediately marginalized and demonized.
America has made more strides toward equality and the eradication of racism than any people in the history of the world......but would you know it listening to the mindless vomit from the mouths of the leftist media and "black leaders".
I so admire and respect the increasing number of independent thinking black folks that go against the grain in spite of being ostracized by their own community.
I refuse to accept that the sins of slavery and its accompanying abuse, is to be a justification for misbehavior forever. It is high time for the black community to rise up and take hold of the opportunities that this country make possible thru the efforts of heroes such as Martin Luther King. Stand and declare by God's grace and help I will not live life as a victim, and thereby I will help my heritage move into the blessings of God that lay at all of our feet.
I pray that God will help us heal our land, and that the loss of folks like the Martins will become increasingly rare, if at all. What is totally ignored by the Jackson's and the Sharpton's is the black families that suffer this same type of loss everyday at the hands of other blacks, what of those families??? Is not their loss just as grievous? George Zimmerman may be an evil man, but why does this killing warranty national outrage, and the young man that was killed in Dallas by one of his own community raise not a sound beyond the city limits of Dallas???? What of the two men that were shot down in cold blood in Garland, TX, by two blacks teenagers for a car and two dollars not raise the outrage of Al and Jesse???
These are my thoughts, flawed, I'm sure, but my thoughts none the less.

Re: Anger + Sadness = RAGE
President Obama is obviously using attempting to use this for political gain - and implying racism to placate to his base.
But when real racism is obviously at play in a murder case he is strangely silent.
Parents of murdered British students criticise Barack Obama
"Mr Kouzaris has written to President Obama on three separate occasions and is yet to even receive the courtesy of a reply.
"It would perhaps appear that Mr Obama sees no political value in facilitating such a request or that the lives of two British tourists are not worthy of ten minutes of his time."
The rebuke follows Mr Obama's personal intervention into the shooting in Florida of a young black teenager by a white neighbourhood watch captain.

On Monday, Jermaine Bane said Tyson accidentally called him the night of the slayings and Bane heard Tyson say to someone “Who are those crackers walking past the park” — allegedly referring to the two British tourists. Bane described a cracker as a white person. Shortly thereafter, Bane said, he heard gunshots.

Exactly!
I was very impressed with Alveda King's comments. There are people with level heads, the others are just shouting louder.
Quote:
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece is criticizing the Rev. Al Sharpton and the Rev. Jesse Jackson for politicizing the Trayvon Martin shooting and leveraging racial tensions to rile up Americans.
“I would believe that, by stirring up all of the emotions and reactions, I wanted to encourage them to remember the man that they say that they followed, to remember that his message was nonviolence and very loving,” King told The Daily Caller, referencing her late uncle. She added that she wanted to encourage Jackson and Sharpton “to talk about nonviolence and not to incite people with that race card that they are very good at playing.”

Obama isn't using this, solely, for political gain. If you check his background and his mentors, they have all embraced and taught Critical Race Theory, i.e. White Supremacy. It is part of who he is.

My husband said the same thing. He broke his nose playing football and simply pushed his nose back in place and kept going. He said he didn't bleed a lot.
