So this would be an independent church then - not affiliated at all?

There are a fair number of women ministers in the UPC (granted not percentage wise) but they have never had women in the higher offices like presbyter or general board.

Hey Steve... you got a spell checker! Good for you!!

You have been proof to me that some people choose OPism because it does not require an education and is anti-intellectual.

You look kind of like an elf but have more the personality of a gremlin.

Sir, I respect your consistency.

I visited a Spanish Apostolic church last Sunday.

I knew what I felt as soon as I walked in the door. I knew what I recognized right away and there wasn't any way I could deny my experience there.

It's a shame that the Apostolics I know and love are convicted to add to the Bible their doctrine that insinuates if a person does not speak in tongues, they are not saved. It's a shame because it's a sin to add to the Bible and ultimately, anyone who peddles that a person must speak in tongues as a part of their salvation experience is peddling a doctrine that is not Biblical.

Acts 2:38 presents 2 commands and a promise-- not 3 commands.

I believe that God will let you pick your delusion, but once you have it, He seals it so that you can never return from believing it.

And THAT if deacons and elders are even in the equation...

It's systemic. As long as tithing is preached as a requisite for membership, and as long a the recipient (the pastor) is tithing to Headquarters (or a substantial annual fee), the system maintains itself.

Wouldn't it be great taking those annual fees or tithes and using them to minister to those around you instead of feeding the "beast"?

A wise man once said that organization is a wonderful servant but a poor master.
