Name the compelling reasons to elect anyone else.
So what are the compelling reasons to elect any of the republican candidates?
Let's see if yall can come up with more than "because he's not Obama".

So really it's all platform issues and as long as you agree with someones platform then you'll elect them. Can't the same be said about compelling reasons to elect Obama... sure you won't agree with those peoples reasons because you don't agree with Obama's platform... but for those that vote for him his platform will be the compelling reason to vote for him.

I don't know what to do at this point, I'm relying on PO to keep me informed.

Interesting try, amphibious one.
It doesn't exactly work though. Some folks vote platform, some vote party,
some vote person.
I've noted over the years that conservatives tend to try and vote platform
more than liberals do; but not as much as Libertarians.

I can see all those potentially being a compelling reason to vote for someone. But it still remains that those reasons can apply just as much to Obama as anyone else.
I think most liberals try and vote platform also. They just have a very different platform than conservatives. I used to think there are more straight ticket voters on the conservative side than the liberal side but some of my experience says they are actually about equal. I think both sides tend to vote for the person equally. Many republicans voted for bush because of his person and strong values. Many democrats voted Obama because of his person and strong oratory skills and ability to identify with so many.

Re: Name the compelling reasons to elect anyone el
Sorry Jfrog but that may be the only compelling reason for many. There are no other democratic candidates. If one does not like Obama as president they may feel compelled to believe almost anyone would be better

Because he/she would not be an advocate of the Obama socialist agenda.
It is my opinion that Barack Obama wants the United States to become some third rate socialist nation like Greece or Italy.
