How on earth do you translate Is 50:6 to mean that Jesus would be tossed out of an Apostolic church? That doesn't make any sense.
That describes the price He paid for our sins...yours too, btw.
You have no right to tell anyone they have "no claim" to follow the teachings of Jesus. And what exactly does "no claim" mean?
It's very confusing trying to follow your logic.

Re: Islam vs. Christianity Part 1

From the above post it seems that Walks in Islam is ISLAM because he does not believe any church accurately portrays Christ's teachings. Its sad allowing church hypocrisy to overshadow core beliefs that would take one to heaven with Jesus.

That's too bad, because there are churches that portray the teachings of our Lord wonderfuly.
If he's turned to Islam because he's seen that walked out accuratley, how does he then explain all the modern day murderering, stonning, honor murders of daughters/sisters, mis-treatment of women being done in the name of Islam?

Re: Islam vs. Christianity Part 1

I bet it is hard to follow my logic however I have much more difficulty following yours. I will explain for you in simple terms this specific instance of logic.

Apostolic churches teach (as your post just stated) that this refers to Jesus and the text that it is taught implied that Jesus had, among other terrible things done to him, his beard plucked for our sins. Yet - are ministers allowed on the platform at apostolic functions if they have one and are church members allowed to participate in church leadership functions if they have one? It used to be the case that they were not therefore JESUS himself would be tossed right off your platform and out of church functions were he to attend your church because of the beard that it is taught in the same church was plucked out for the sins of the church members.

One of many, many, many doctrines taught that have no basis in the book. Feel free to ask if you wish some more examples. On the other hand you are advised not to teach from one tongue fork that Jesus had his beard plucked for "our sins" then teach from the other tongue fork that it is a sin to have a beard

Then sing "to be like Jesus" in the same service.

Get it now?

Jesus did not assemble 12 followers then tax them with a tithe so that they could go to heaven. Does your church teach that? It is advised that you do not teach that then sing "to be like Jesus" in the same service.

Jesus did not teach a single word of how one has to "look" to go to heaven. Does your church teach that? It is advised that you do not teach that then sing "to be like Jesus" in the same service.

Jesus did not profit from his ministry on earth. Does your church profit from ministry? It is not advised to do this then sing "to be like Jesus" in the same service.

Jesus did not send his followers out with instructions on how to profit from their ministry either. Does your denomination teach that? It is not advised to do this then sing "to be like Jesus" in the same service.

I have all rights to claim that in many, many years I have never seen or heard of or heard the teachings of Jesus taught and followed but you certainly have the right to pick out the teachings of Jesus one by one and example the application of them.

Re: Islam vs. Christianity Part 1

I am awaiting requested explaination of the till-robbing, boy-diddling, and child-molesting after which I will take on responsibility for those of my faith.

Said explanation has sadly not arrived.

Genocide:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38057461...ld_news-africa (I guess genocide aint limited to Muslims huh?)

And some new ones:

Child porn:

Ex-pastor faces 31 charges
Gandy accused of child porn, sexual exploitation
By Eric Litke • Sheboygan Press staff • September 25, 2010

Former pastor Travis J. Gandy was charged Friday with 31 felonies based on explicit photos and text messages he allegedly exchanged with two teenage boys from his church.

Murder:

South Carolina Pastor arrested for murder
Former Independence Pastor David Love was arrested Tuesday afternoon in South Carolina.

He is being held in a Spartanburg, S.C., jail pending an extradition hearing. A jail employee in Spartanburg said Love was named in a murder warrant out of Missouri.

Rape:

ROY, Utah — A former Utah pastor is now in the Weber County Jail on charges of raping an underage girl.

Police say Aaron Douglas Witcher, 38.......

Love was pastor of the church attended by Randy E. Stone, an Independence insurance salesman slain in late March. Authorities have not linked his arrest to the case.

Unless you personally take responsibility for this then I will also decline personal responsibility of the actions (which I do not participate in or support) from within my own faith. Islam as taught is a beautiful and peaceful religion. Otherwise as was pointed out months ago on this thread all religions everywhere have been used at some point to justify wrongs from positions of power within the religion itself. If yours has not - then declare it.

None of the above were done in the name of Christianity. Very few, if any Christians, would not condemn these actions.

Any Christian group that actually does something abhorred "In the name of Christianity" or "In the name of Christ", most Christians are not only willing to repudiate but in fact we do.

Re: Islam vs. Christianity Part 1

Not sad at all since Jesus himself followed the teachings of the law and and did not Jesus himself publicly curse/condemn the religious leaders who taught their own version of it?

It should be. Perhaps part of the problem is lack of organizations

Christianity has many organizations and voices

Perhaps if it was realized that mainstream Islam teaches moderation at the highest levels maybe we would all realize we've been snookered out of trillions of dollars and many of the civil rights we all at one time enjoyed.....
