Cool Re: The Village idioT

Here I am again. ( What's wrong with this picture?)

Yesterday my husband and I went to a local restaurant since my son wanted us to meet his new girlfriend.
After I stopped at Walmart to get a watch battery and since I was down to 1/4 tank of gas I stopped at the gas station.

#1 --I'm a nitwit
Grabbed my credit card and the Kroger card to save xtra and closed the car door. As I proceeded to swipe the card I realized there were no keys in my hand-===I finished putting in gas and went inside station. I had to beg to use their phone....my keys, cell phone etc were in my locked car!

Called hubby to look for spare door key. Both sets of remote keys were in my purse
I asked him to check Ford Roadside online since maybe this was covered.

After an hour wait at the local convenience store ( an interesting experience; verrry busy and quite varied patrons), my husband came. He said it was covered but it would be an hour B 4 they could get there.

#2 I'm really a nitwit

Hubby said don't you know the door code? Duh? I forgot it was there cuz I never use it. Fortunatley I did remember the #'s and promply enterered the car and drove home. ( and called to cancel roadside assistance call)

And this is how I started my Holiday weekend!

Could have been worse. You could have been locked inside the car!

Cool Re: The Village idioT

I hesitate to even admit to this , but once again===a paint spill

We're able to match paint samples. The customer brought in a plastic quart of paint left by previous home owner. I put a dab on a card, dried it, and did the color match. It actually gave a decent reading and I made the customer a gallon of paint.

I proceeded to give the customer his gallon of paint; and then the plastic qt he brought in >>>>> slipped out of my hand and I dropped it______
So now I've spilled his paint.
Made a mess on the floor.
Got paint on my black suede boots (hey, it snowed yesterday), in other words a minor disaster____

Fortunately he was forgiving about my spilling his paint. But I still felt like an idiot.

My neighbor came out and was ooohing and aaaahing, on his way to town, I was quite embarassed, to say the least!

Anyway, my son and I found some extra siding in the garage, and had to replace all of the siding on the back of the garage!

THe neighbor came home a few hours later, and had to look twice, but we had fortunately fixed my mistake.

I learned my lesson about CHristmas trees!
After reading this I'm not sure whether to feel smarter or more stupid. Once when young the kids and I were untrimming the tree on a cold New Years day... Well rather than drag it out in the snow to the curb I thought... 'why not just stuff it in the fire place?'.... We already had a fire going... In just a minute it roared up and exploded the brick chimney almost to the roof. Thanks be to God we had fire retardant shingles and I did not actually burn the house down. The adjuster from our homeowners insurance company was quite impressed, said he'd never seen anything quite like it... Of course I made my husband meet him while I hid out
