Well, despite being dressed to the code, hair off my ears and collar, a holy ghost filled countenance, my own people failed to realize I was an Apostolic. They thought I was some freak...until they saw my beautiful Apostolic wife of course.

It was hilarious afterward as I reflected that the entire UPC universe of men are pretty much defined to the Apostolic world by the way their/our wives look. When we are at the pool or the ocean in our longs, the whole world looks at us both kind of weird.

...are you listening CC1?

I went to a section event in 2004. I was clean shaven... imagine that. I was dressed up but I was NOT wearing a tie. "....is this your first visit to an apostolic church?"

I have not had any on our cars.
Have you ever studied symbolism? It is interesting to see the pagan roots of so many things that we have long considered "christian".

This reminds me of bumper stickers on a car in our church lot. On the left is a sticker that says "Jesus loves me". On the right "I love Garfield". Struck me as funny. Guess you had to be there......

I thought I would try something. As I saw them coming in, I pulled the door open for them saying, "Sister, let me get that door for you folks." They said, thank you for holding the door, and I said to the man, "Brother, you're welcome, any time!"

They were looking at me like I had sprouted a third eye in my forhead...until they saw my wife...they brightened up, "HI!! DO YOU GO TO CHURCH? WHAT CHURCH TO YOU GO TO!!" The transformation in their countenance was amazing...but telling at the same time.

I realized that the A-standards is how we identify ourselves...Just like the FISH Symbol on the back of our cars...

Funny thing hunh???
Lol~ "Oh how they were so looking to testify how their outward dress drew a sinner to see there was something special about them" ~

Lol~ Sadly there a lot truth in what you said here. When my husband became a pastor I remember another older pastor telling him it's real easy to tell who's one of us, just look for their wife. Hmmm what about that poor single guy who walks in, he viewed as a stranger or sinner even if he dress to the tee, until he says I'm from so and so church~
