The rain falls on the just and the unjust. Receiving the HG is not a sign of approval of a sinful lifestyle. It is the power that allows us to become the sons of God. What we do with that power is upto to us.

Also, 'Holiness' is the mind and character of God and there is no red letters in my Bible addressing anything but inward conditions of the heart. Paul's statements in Corinthians are open for interpretation and in the Greek and Hebrew are not addressed as you seem to think.

Why can't you just pray for people who use make-up instead of condemn them. Some women are truly beautiful without it and some need to paint the barn...LOL. Regardless - it is up to the individual to "work out their own salvation with fear and trembling."

Blessings, Rhoni
Remember, we only paint dead things. LOL

I wouldn't try to justify their choices. But like everyone, it will be between them and God.

Show me a Church without sin.
Show me a PAstor without sin.

btw, cast the first stone my friend.

You bump to bring a previous post to the top, and prevents the thread from dying. At least for a bit.

You have a logical fallacy, actually and ironically called "The Slippery Slope" fallacy.

Your fallacy goes "Because JCM was plagued with Homosexuality many (here on this forum) have backslidden and don't look to my eyes like Apostolic Pentecostals".

1) prove JCM was plagued with homosexual problems. Plagued is a subjective word. Was there any there that had homosexual issues they dealt with? Probably so, but that does not make JCM plagued.

2) since all across your group people have left and yet never attended JCM, we can conclude it has nothing to do with JCM or Homosexuality

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Gays and lesbians know deep down inside that their lifestyles are wrong, they don't even need to word of God to tell them that. They are constantly wanting approval from everyone else.

You can love them and should do so, but you must preach and teach to the congregation that is an abomination and it will send their souls to hell.

Another thing to ponder, there is a spirit that is associated with homosexuals and I have seen four young ladies seduced and led astray from the church because the pastor didn't address these issues due to pressure from the just love them crowd.

JMHO, that and a dollar still won't buy a tank of gas. I am a moderate Apostolic Pentecostal pastor and I can assure you I will preach and teach against homosexuality whenever and where ever it is neccesary. I had two men visit me recently, thought they could bring their talent to the church and still live as homosexuals. They didn't stick around, because sin must feel uncomfortable. We were nice and treated them right, but it was clear that homosexual lifestyle is not acceptable in the house of the Lord.

I still believe and teach holiness lifestyle, I do believe that that that have kicked holiness to the curb are on a slippery slope, I have never seen it just stay with just a dress code. My pastor kicked the dress code to the curb, took the church out of the UPC and then adultery crept in, next it was baptism and finally he is no longer oneness. Compromise comes in small increments. He is backslidden now and is lost unless he repents and finds his way back to the truth.

I held off for several days getting involved in this puerile thread. I try to stay away from this kind of stuff because it just gets me upset and why should I log onto the internet to get upset? But alas, I dive in.

Revvke, if you, or people like you, would spend an ounce of time contemplating, reflecting, praying, fasting, and researching about the people you're barking at and trying to find a way to REACH them, rather than CONDEMN them, maybe Christianity could make come progress with this issue.

Is this really all you're concerned about, making sure people are going to crawl out from underneath their collective rocks, occasionally, and proclaim that homosexuals are going to hell? Is that really important to you?

Why don't you one time in your life dare to jump in your car and drive to the Castro district in San Francisco, walk down Market street, look those people in the eyes, and THEN start yelling about hell.

Bill Hybels has often said, "You've never looked into the eyes of someone God doesn't care about." Go look in their eyes, Rev. Better yet, have a conversation with one of them, or is it much easier to sit at your computer and just yell about hell?

But it's too hard to understand them, isn't it? It's too much of an investment of time and heartache to hear peoples hurt, devastation, confusion, depression, frustration, and rejection. There's also the possibility that you don't even care about those things. The more simple life for the pentecostal/charismatics of this world is to just have an altar call, lay hands on someone, have them fall over backwards, shake on the floor a little bit and when they come to, it's all better.

Ahh...but it doesn't happen that way, does it? And since it's not an easy fix, the easier thing to do is just yell about hell.

So rather than asking "Are these going to be saved", why don't you dare to ask, "How can I help?"

But if we ask that, we're actually going to have to do something.

Bill Hybels also often says, "People matter to God, therefore, they should matter to you." And Rev, they ought to matter enough in your life to serve as something besides a target for your verbal hell-flame-throwing.
