Re: Mixed Feelings...

When W kept using executive priviledge to keep certain documents or testimonies protected, I was against it. W even had something BHO doesn't have here, the legal and Constitutional right to do what he did. But I didn't like the precedent it would set for future Presidents and administrations.

I view this the same way. Do I believe BHO would target other US citizens that oppose him or the administration. No. But it sets precedent that one could do so down the road.

You're trying to have it both ways, but you can't. Either he's a US citizen with rights protected by the Constitution, or he's just another scumbag that can be off'd at the governments whim.
Ignore the Constituion? Did I ever say that? NO.

As I've said the whole time, we only have two ways of dealing with him. We either let him live in that country or we kill him in that country.

To be honest both scenarios leave a bad taste in my mouth. Is one worse than the other as you keep trying to say. I'm not convinced.

You keep trying to argue that the government could just declare anyone a terrorist and have them off'd if he is. I don't believe that.

The question is, if ya let this guy live, what do ya tell the families of the true Americans that he will kill?

Further you want to talk about the precedent that killing him would have... Let's examine the precedent that not killing him will have... We will have shown any radical American Muslims that they can carry out attacks on us and plot against us all they like and as long as they can escape to another country then we won't ever come after them.

Which is the worst precedent? Which is the worst scenario? I'm not sure...

But if we capture and try him publically, we have shown that we hold to the principles of our constitution... we win a moral victory. If we just kill him, we show that our rights aren't all that inalienable after all.

Personally I could care less about the guy, he is a terrorist scumbag that needs to reap what he has sown expeditiously.

It is the whole execution of a citizen by executive order thing that I find repugnant.

Moral victories are often the perview of actual losers.

We didnt have a problem killing John Dillenger and Bonnie and Clyde. nobody was worried about thier civil rights being violated.

If this guy were in a place where he could be arrested, then we should try. In this case he isnt. But he needs to be stopped.

I dont like BHO one tiny little bit. I think he is a commie/facist hybred who is horrible for America and i get an eye-shake when I see him on tv.

but I dont have a problem with him ordering a hit on this or any other terrorist. we need to do more hitting on terrorists and anything that even remotely looks like a terrorist.

having said that, someone already pointed out that mr president is treating foreign terrorists like American Citizens while treating Americans as foreign terrorists. He needs a political takedown come this november and a political take out come nov. 2012. I will be happy to do my part on both occasions at the polls.

I think that he is treating them all the same. Just cause one isn't in a situation to be captured doesn't mean he wouldn't be treated the same if he was...

What happens if a day comes when certain eschatological beliefs classify a church as a "danger to society"? I'm leary of this.

Then you get persecuted a little by being probed and asked questions and notin else is done. Ya do realize that the poice wouldn't do anything unless yall were stockpiling weapons or something like that.

I think he should hire a lawyer and sue the government for violating his civil rights.

Oh and by the way, I'm pretty sure authorizing the murder of an american citizen without presenting the burden of proof that he's a traitor or trying him in court is an impeachable offense by the President.
It's all smoke and mirrors. To begin with we may never get permission to take this guy out in another country.

Even if we did that guy would just be a scape goat to make Obama look tough and to divert attention from his weakness.

He did the same thing with the announcement of new oil drilling off American coasts...which BTW excluded California.
