American opposition to this ruling is based on the lies being told about it.

LIES by Barak Hussain Obama no less.

The ruling was sound and it was a victory for the first Amendment.

Doesn't the ruling give corporations the ability to pour money into the elections like the unions have been doing for years?

I'm glad for the ruling. The McCain-Feingold bill was a limit on free speech.

The problem is the people have been sold a sack of lies. The President himself, during his SOTU address, lied about the ruling by saying it "reversed a century of law."

It did no such thing.

There are still laws on the books that prohibit foreign donations.

A number of Republicans and Democrats, notably the Clintons, received illegal campaign donations which had to be returned. I believe BHO himself received some as well.

Yes, the law should be tightened and the loopholes should be dealt with, but the SCOTUS ruling allows for future debate/limits on foreign donations.

If the truth were told, the polls numbers would be very different. Unfortunately the President and other Democrats have lied about it and used fear of foreign involvement to skew public opinion.

If you read the article, you would see that our collective disdain has nothing to do with politcal parties.

There are just as many Republicans upset about this as Independents and Democrats.

I read the article JD ... it doesn't change the fact that these people - Republican, Democrats and Independents like me were told lies about the ruling ... from none other than your boy BHO.

ive read the ruling. Ive listened to what the president has said.

I know what Mccain thinks.

this article doesnt break any new ground at all.

It is not the job of the supreme court to make people happy.

Their JOB is to protect the constitution.

They did there job. There is more than ample law on the books right now to keep foreign money out of American elections from the federal to the local level.

I resent the fact that mr obama decided to play politics with the SCOTUS.

He needs to be sent to time out like the child he is.

Like Unions already pour in millions? Like that? Whats wrong Jermyn? you want business people crippled in their ability to speak and allow the unions unfettered access?
