It looks like a turnip to me!
Description -
The rutabaga is very similar to the turnip except that it generally has yellowish flesh, a more dense root with more side shoots and they are usually harvested at a larger size. Unlike the turnip, the rutabaga has smooth, waxy leaves.

LOL........good old rutabagas, my husband loves them! I'll eat them, but not real fond of them. I take it you 2 have never tried them?

Maybe, not sure. I don't think we've ever cooked them at home. (Uh, do you eat them cooked, or raw?

You cut them up in chunks, cover with water, add some ham or bacon and boil until tender. Cornbread is good with them. Try them!
