In Acts 10, Cornelius and his household did get the Holy Ghost before they were baptized.

Well, since I believe that it is solely the grace of God (as displayed in Jesus' propitiating work on the cross) that saves us, and that there is no saving power in anything we do (such as repentance, believing, water baptism), and since I agree with most other Pentecostal denominations that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is a second work of grace, they were forgiven the moment they repented of their sins.

You are right because there is no way to do it that I know of. Obviously you and believe you need to follow what Acts 2:38 is saying, but what the others do not realize is that baptism is more a symbol I guess at the most. Some would say it is an expression of one faith. That is why alot of oneness people say, "by the profession of your faith.." Maybe there is an answer out there that we do not know, but I am waiting to see it.

I think you are a smart man, however, I do not think that you are smart enough (even as a liberal) to explain Acts 2:38 away.

East...no one is trying to "explain away" Acts 2:38. It is what it is, the response to the Message. Simple
