And while that might work within a group of Pentecostals, it won't work out there in the big, wide world that we're supposed to be witnessing to.

But anyhow sports though off topic is the best thing going on this thread.

Since we are already off topic...
I hate the Giants mostly because I can't stand Eli Manning. I didn't who to cheer for yesterday when Dallas played the Giants, so I just cheered on the linemen who were trying to sack the QB. Yankees are my sons favorite team. A couple of years ago in Little league his nick name on the team was Jetter. When he went up to bat and his team started chanting "jetter. jetter" my wife got upset she thought they were calling him a cheater.

Actually I can defend, I have material on all of it, I have taught classes about it in our youth group.
But as I said before, I honestly am not one for lots and lost of typing. I'm ADD! lol.
Thats why I made the one post with all the scripture refrences (which was difficult for me to take the time and do that little bit of typing), I would rather speak more then type.
Sorry you felt I cursed you. You are a pastor, I do not doubt or deny that you certainly have much more knowledge then me on these subjects.
If you felt I was rude to you directly, im sorry.

My post here have been mostly out of boredom, and just to test exactly what people think about what I believe is "core" apostolic doctrin.
I don't claim wisdom, but I do claim what I read from the word.

Okay, Mr. Cox. This is me dropping the humor and being serious.
You are right to stand firm on the doctrine that was put into your heart as a child, and from reading the Word. You shouldn't move from that, unless you find in some way that, according to scripture, God wants you to go in a different direction.
When I was a kid, we weren't allowed to celebrate Christmas, and my Dad drilled into me how evil it was. That was one of the things I dropped when I got married, because I never agreed with it, I never agreed with his interpretation of history, and I didn't see the harm in it. It isn't always wrong to lay aside something your parents taught, but I wouldn't do it without a lot of thought and making sure I could do it with a clear conscience.
My rule of thumb has been--if something bothers me, I don't do it. Even if logically I think it's okay, because I don't want to walk around feeling condemned or nervous.
Here's where you're hitting a brick wall with people on this forum, though--the measure you have for yourself and the measure you have for others should NOT be the same. You can be as strict with yourself as you want, but with OTHER people, you can only be as strict as the WORD allows. No one has the right to judge outside of God's Word. Doing so is stepping outside of "righteous judgment" and stepping into God's shoes.
You have to strike a balance between being true to God and to your own convictions, and allowing other people the liberty to do that as well. Leave it to God to judge whether they are right or wrong, and leave it to Him to lead them where He wants them to go. One of the biggest lessons to learn--one that requires maturity--is learning to agree to disagree, and parting as friends.
You'll find that if you treat people respectfully and don't make assumptions about their character, lifestyle or personal beliefs (let THEM tell you what they believe or don't believe), that you will have some very fruitful and enjoyable conversations. Also, integrity matters here. Speak the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Don't fudge anything.

I said the other forum prohbits mention of other forums. and that is the truth.
why it took so long to delete the first one? I dont know, i'm not a admin! maybe they were discussing what to do about it.
Then they made a rule not to mention other forums.
I did not attack aff and say horrible things.
my thread said this: AFF, WOW.
i'm not going to discuss the other forum anymore because I value their opinions.

You do not owe me a personal apology, Bro, although I appreciate the Spirit behind it.
All I want is for you to appreciate AFF for what it is. And I want you to be able to defend what you believe without insulting your debate opponents.
Let's talk, argue and debate without all of that junk. Who knows, maybe we'll learn something from each other?
My advice to you is that you create an anonymous username, so that you can debate without worrying about what everybody else thinks about your questions or positions.

Good post. and we also used to be the same with Christmas, we now celebrate upon seeing there was no Bible precedent against it.
that probably shocks some

Okay that is where I say enough. I don't always agree with the majority but I am also not making rash statements either. Cox what in the world possessed you to come on here and say such things? This is a place where people of all kinds of pentecostal/apostolic churches can share what they are thinking. In our world that is a good thing. Its the thing that gives me the freedom and right to say what I think over the pulpits of America and foreign countries and share the truth of the gospel. Rethink your view because its not correct.
