Well...we arrived safe and sound yesterday!
I totally miscalculated on the flight time. Instead of flying during our nighttime, it was just our evening time. When we arrived at 8 am Monday morning, it was midnight back home. By the time we got to our hotel room, we were very, very tired. We crashed for about 4 hours, and forced ourselves awake so we would be able to sleep last night. Well...yeah, that was the plan. We both slept fairly well, but when hubby got up to go to work this morning at 7, I pretty much fell back to sleep after a couple hours, and ended up sleeping till 4:30 in the afternoon!!! Now I'm going to be awake all night!!! Aarrgghh!!!
Interesting place here. A lot like Germany when it comes to buildings and roadways. We surely are spoiled in American hotels though. We have no room temperature control, no refridgerator, no microwave, have to request an ironing board from room service, no coffee pot, but there is a hot water pot for tea or cocoa. :? And this is one of the nicer hotels in this area. The toilet flushing handle is on the opposite side of the tank, the bathtub/shower is extremely long, and there is no fan/vent, but a small radiator on the wall.
We are in a very small city on the outskirts of Dublin called Maynooth. It is closer to the HP site that hubby has to drive to than to stay in Dublin. We investigated a bit yesterday and found a 13th Century Castle ruins, which was listed in a visitor's guide to Ireland. And a pub that was listed in that same guide whose claim to fame is that Robin Hood was said to have visited there.
The TV shows are interesting as well. I have seen many American shows. Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, Bones, Stargate to mention a few. The 'hip' radio stations play American top 40. And the products they sell in grocery stores are very familiar names, although the packaging is a bit different. Oh, and their muffins or specialty breads are mostly chock full of chocolate chips. I didn't see anything like blueberry muffins, or raisin bread...it was all choco chips. LOL
The people are interesting. They are not a beautiful people...mostly haggard looking. I have seen many red-headed women, but only 1 red-headed man. They don't wear white tennis shoes. They wear more casual style dress shoes. And I have seen very, very few other nationalities here. Almost all caucasian, although it may be different if we were to head in to the big city of Dublin.
Hopefully I will get out tomorrow and take some pics, IF I'm not sleeping the day away again!
Oh, and it doesn't look like I'll be kissing the Blarney Stone...it is quite a ways north of us.

Good to see you made it okay!
Might I suggest you want to give consideration to applying to work for Tourism Ireland? You would give "glowing" reviews.

Lol..yeah...'glowing'....rrriiiiggghhhtttt....
I forgot to mention there is no clock in the room either. (And now you know why I slept till 4:30!) And they have a plug-in above the sink that switches between 115 and 220, BUT the slots won't allow the prongs that has one side wider than the other. So...no curling my hair either. *sigh*
I forgot to mention also...
Thanks to all for your wonderful prayers!!! Our flight to Ireland was one of the smoothest flights I've been on! AND it arrived 30 minutes ahead of schedule!

Will you hire a car for shoe shopping during the day?
Or will you hop a tram?
