Second, if it does not pass, my guess is the next 3 months following the thumbs down vote will detail an incredible lack of unity and a settling out. It's possible we may have a change at the top of our leadership before the vote, so it is very hard to gauge at the moment.
You got an idea, BOOMM?

Does this mean that you think there is a good possibility that KH will be voted out? Just curious....

Prax,
Let's get real and not hide behind a technical argument. Reality is much different that arguments on a keyboard
Tell me, from your heart of hearts, do you think we will stop at TV advertising only?
And, for further clarification, what, in your mind, IS television advertising?

Stopping at TV Advertisements only is irrelevent..If we are on a slippery slope already there is nothing you can do to prevent it.
Television advertisement is like what we did and do with Internet Advertisement, Radio advertisement and even Newsweek Advertisement. It's advertisement on TV.
We had a local cable channel here that gave free advertisements to churches...we can be in the phone book...we can be in the newspaper, but we could not be on that free local channel

Well, perhaps I might understand logic and fallacy.
Logic tells me when the nose is in the door, the rest of the body will follow, warts and all.
Fallacy is the belief that going toward the world will result in a more spiritual church.
I'm sorry, Praxie, but never has any empire, era, dynasty, or organization ever made a such a quantum step towards idolatry and ever recovered.
That is the logic and fallacy of this resolution.

Sweet Pea,
As the resident apologist for Than I am curious as to what you believe is the plan is for KH when he does retire from the GS position.
Is he supposed to come back home to CA as the Bishop, Pastor Emeritus of CLC or reitre somewhere else to leave Than on his own?

Appreciate the help, Prax...
But it doesn't look like I'll need it...
At least, not when you've already proved my point.

Over the years the cost has increased. But the main thing is that there are about 35 families that have joined the church over the years because of the Tv broadcast.
I am not saying 35 people. Families. Some of the people that have come in have felt the call of God and started ministies. One man and his wife does a church at a truck stop for truckers. 35 families not to mention the people that those 35 have won. That church there runs close to 900-1000 people. Most of which might not have been there if were not for the Tv broadcast. There have been down points though. We were told not to come to several UPC organized events such as choir singing at JCm and others. Now there are no walls there, because we have proved it can be done and stay true the truth!
The bottom line is that no one can ever, ever, ever convince me tv does not work. It might not fly in your area too well, because of time slots or whatever. But it works. My father and I produced the program for a long time and I can tell you it is not too hard to do with the right equipment you can have a great program.

I think the figures are wrong as far as how many the McCool church runs. I have been there when I lived in Knoxville a little over a year ago, and I personally do not think the church can seat over 600, and the times I was there it had plenty of seats empty.

What is so wrong about watching a video of preaching? I understand your convictions, but I don't see the sin in it.
I don't get it! Why do preachers preach against this and that. Preach against TV.... preach against your elbows showing. Preach against colored hose. Preach against nude colored hose. No video... Preach against internet in the home. Preach against splits, slits, and anything else you wanna add...i came name a bunch more.... My question: Why don't you start preaching the Word. Teach the saints to follow after the Spirit of God. Follow after the spirit and not the flesh. When you have saints who follow after the spirit if God, they won't want the filth of the TV in their home. They won't dress sinful or listen to sinful things. They won't watch it either.... many preachers are still preaching against watching home videos of their children..come on, get a life. Preach the Word of God and people will line up. And if their heart isn't right, then I don't care how hard you preach it, they aint gonna be right.
and btw....I am a very conservative, standard holding apostolic!

LadyC, you have been missed.
You ask of his stance on video, then describe your devotions. Some have a zero tolerance of video in any form, and to them that leaves no room for errors.

Thanks!!!
I haven't had a tv in my home in over a decade. Is it heaven or hell? I don't think so. I've watched preaching online many times, it's encouraged me. I understand why some choose zero tolerance for their own home because some people struggle with certain things and they know within themselves that they couldn't control it and eventually give in to just about anything. That isn't the same for everyone. I understand preachers wanting their saints to stay away from things. But we are going to have to let people live for God, and not for the preacher. When the Holyghost convicts, people get in it for themselves, they'll keep it. I had a very strict pastor some time ago that preached against almost everything under the sun, (and we obeyed while we were there) and then he took us to a bar one Sunday afternoon because the food was incredible. I was extremely uncomfy...and not to mention my backslidden relative was with us..... What happen to "not letting your good be spoken evil of"
My point? Teach the Word and let God convict.....seek God's face and we wont have to keep making rules to make sure people live right....
