Re: Hike into the Grand Canyon

Beautiful photos!! Some friends and I were at the Grand Canyon, (I for the first time),
in April 08. It was breath-takingly beautiful. We didn't get to see all of it, but I would
love to go back with my husband, and be able to stay longer and see more. He has
never been to the Grand Canyon.

Thanks, RandyWayne for posting these photos. They are excellent!

Blessings,

Falla39

Your options for getting back out are:
A) Walking
B) Crawling
C) Mules IF you have reservations
D) Helicopter IF you have reservations
E) Helicopter with the big white cross. No reservations required.

No one has really seen it all yet. LOL

Your right about the breath-taking part. It is just so big that you lose all sense of depth. I was also struck at how years of seeing photos and even IMAX movies of the Canyon did not do it justice in real life.

Re: Hike into the Grand Canyon

Here some pictures taken the next day from the South rim.

My beautiful wife (again) sitting somewhere I would never/could never, go.

The dog looks like he is staring at the bottom, but there is actually another ledge right below them -and a squirrel.

Can you say "moron"? He was probably trying to get a better picture but I actually got the better one, with him in it.

Taken right outside the passenger side of our car (I was in the passenger seat).

Re: Hike into the Grand Canyon

Randy, these pictures are absolutely incredible. Amazing, outstanding. WOW!!!!!

Thank you for sharing them here with us. For those of us who will never hike the GC, this at least gives us a taste of what you see when you do hike it. I appreciate that.

Re: Hike into the Grand Canyon

How long did it take for ya'll to hike down and then back up? I am just enjoying looking at these pics over and over! Amazing shots! I want to go there!!!

Are you allowed to take a weapon like a gun or something in case of some wild animal trying to attack? Just wondering.
