I didn't say it was coming from the UPC as an institution, I said it's coming from the "UPC way"....or "from the upc direction"....or "upc side of the isle."

Of of the 13 hell-pronouncements, I believe 11 of them have been from verified upc folksies.

To call someone a "sinner" or "lost" or " going to hell", who professes Christ, just gives me the heebie-jeebies. I just can't imagine saying that to someone.

Like I wrote before, I am sorry that others have been rude to you. However, you shouldn't paint us all w/ the same broad brush. We are not all the same.

I agree. You're certainly not all the same. But when you examine the entirety of the upc position which proclaims to have the "only way", it does seem to lend itself to verbal flame-throwing. That being said, the one thing I learned when I ventured out into the world outside the upc, is this....they're not the only ones who do it. In fact, others are even more harsh than they.

So there's a lot of guilty parties. I just cringe when anyone of any opinion says, "My way is the only way."

Jesus way is the ONLY way. So unless you are following HIS word you will not make it and you will go to hell. Sin is still sin and if someone commits sin they are in danger of going to hell. Candy coat it if you like but if it is sin it needs to be named.

and as a disclaimer: I am not saying you are not following it, it is for each of us to look into our hearts and decide for ourselves. Unfortunately there may be some that feel they are and will find out they are wrong after all.
also sin is not necessarily things that are taught out of tradition but the Bible does say that for the man who knows to do good and doesn't, it is sin.

I said I "cringe when anyone says MY way is the only way." I'm talking about someone's personal opinion or interpretation of something, or someone's little group. It's actually one of the works of the flesh listed in Galatians 5:20..."The feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group." NLT

I'm with you...Jesus Christ is the only way. Still...if I get to heaven and someone is there that I thought, for sure, wouldn't be there, that'll be fine with me. God is the only one who will determine who's in heaven and who's in hell.
