Re: What is the age limit?

I think that is the problem today. Many are cast as being "guilty" of something they would never even consider, causing eyebrows to be lifted. As I stated earlier years ago this would never have been given a second thought.

But on the flip side I am also hearing of many cases where incest was going on in the family and being covered up.

Although for me, singling out one child over another would give me great concerns. Not just from the angle of "something" might be wrong, but showing favortism is never a healthy family thing. Remember Joseph?

It's a bit more complicated than that and not always favortism. In my case my middle daughter is always game to go "work with daddy". While the others cry foul sometimes, they really don't want to help pull the weeds or do the work daddy does.

I tell them life ain't easy - It's a Hard Knock life!

Oops. Remember Isaac and Rebekkah.

Jacobs parents started it.

Then Jacob had this major dysfunctional deal long before Joseph. 12 sons and 4 moms. 2 wives and 2 servants. This unfair favorites stuff came way back when he worked for Rachael because she was a "hottie"

We are in a hyper anxiety world.
In womens ministry, we see women who did not hear from their dadies that they were lovely and valued and had to drink and hear it in bars when they left for schools.

A godly dad is protection. He is a covering. He protects her little heart and protects her physically and shows her that and it is what she will seek in a husband.
in the OT, we see more proactive protection by brothers also of their sisters.

don't feel there should be a problem, my dad took me to Florida - Clearwater Beach and Disney World when I was 21 and six months before I was married.

Perhaps it isn't favoritism at all. Could it not be simply that one daughter would not have enjoyed what they were going to be doing? I know w/ my children there are some things that Dad does w/ all because they all enjoy it. Then there are some things that Dad does w/ only one, because only one enjoys it. But when all is said and done, it balances out.
