What is the age limit?
In your opinion what should be the age limit that a father takes his daughter alone on a week trip, leaving his other daughter and wife behind.
Should it matter if he is a pastor?
Is bonding time for father and daughter the same as bonding for father and son?
Thirty years ago would this question have been an issue? Or has there been so much exposed abuse that we now see a sin in everything?
If you were a Mother would you have an age limit? Is 12 or 13 a time to stop these trips? And what if there is only bonding for one of the daughters and not both? Woudl you think something is not quite right?

Re: What is the age limit?
As a father of three daughters I say it should never be an issue.
Of course when we are talking blended families that changes things.

Re: What is the age limit?
ANY age is appropriate. Every family is different. Every case is unique.
I am sure there will be some upcoming opinions that differ from mine.

wow. As the father of a teen aged daughter, all I can say is "wow."
Everybody else in this world is sure messed up. I'm glad my baby girl has been shielded from that. wow.

Re: What is the age limit?
It shouldn't matter.

Re: What is the age limit?
I think we should stop being so critical and not assume something bad. It's none of my business why he would take one daughter and not the other one. None of us need to know all the details of a pastor's family life.

Re: What is the age limit?
Unless there are other things that bring conduct into question I don't think there is any age limit. I never went on a trip with just my daughter when she was growing up that I can remember but would have thought nothing of doing so had the situation arose.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: What is the age limit?
It should never be an issue unless there is something else that is giving concern.
