I didn't see many reveiws on Frigidare. I know my in-laws had a Frigidare stove that was over 50 years old still working when she passed away. But that seems to be the normal for older appliance.

IF the government was really serious about going green seems they would require these companies to go back to making quality products like they made 40-50 years ago before all the new technology that can't hold up. Just think of the hardware that wouldn't need to be dumped back into the landfills.

Tecumseh, Bristol, copeland and i believe Lennox makes their own. My daughter is an Architectural engineer and will in her job specify several million dollars of equipment a week. I also would put carrier and Lennox above the others you mention. When I build a new office, I usually do not get very involved in brand except for Mechanical contractors.
If Amana is bad, the lifetime warranty may exclude people coming out and labor material to replace it. I thought Whirlpool bought amana.
The man in church and the neighbor are far superior reviews than online. Many online reviews are planted by companies.
My brother bought a Rudd a year or so ago. So far it is holding up. It is considered to be on the low end for price and dependability.

We are looking at replacing the furnance also now, seems that is a requirement to get a higher seer. For just a 300.00 difference we are looking at the Maytag really strong. They have a stainless steel cabinet that my husband likes, and a better consumer rating that I can find.

Like someone said you wonder if some of these reviews are plants??? Some really bad ones.
