May 29, 2009....Great Day for me...

As of this date, I will no longer be employed...by my own choice.

I've had this job for 21 months, and although it has been good for me at times, it has come time for me to stay home and be a mommy, wife, and pastor's wife.

Grooming dogs and cats is a good way to work out frustrations, but it's not been a "fun" job for me. I'm not a big animal "LOVER" I like dogs and cats, sometimes, but I don't like getting bitten and scratched to the point where I have to take anitbiotics. That has happened a couple of times.

They laugh at me at work. I come out of my "office" "kicking" a dog back in and lean up against the door and say, "I HATE DOGS!!!!!" They think it's funny, but most of time, I'm serious as a heart attack.

The job, literally, fell into my lap. We at the office getting medicine for one of our dogs, and they had an opening and the PA (physician's assistant) asked me if I needed a job, and I said "Why" and she said we need a groomer, and I told her I had no experience whatsoever in grooming dogs. She went and grabbed the vet and he came out and asked me if I would work for him. I told him I had never done anything like that and he said that was no problem, they would train me. and WHAM there ya go, I had the job. I filled out the application AFTER they hired me.

I have to say though, that there were many times, I sat in the floor LITERALLY covered in dog hair, saying and praying, "Ok God, I know YOU have a reason for this. Just help me find it.

Anyway, things have been going down hill for a while and last Monday I was set up to take the fall and the blame for something that I never did. The boss came in and "jumped" me and told me "Well, that's the way it is." I looked him in the face (since he was leaned over my table, he's 6'5") and said, "No sir, that's not the way it is, but you'll have to give me a little while to get myself together and my stuff together, because this came out of the blue." I WAS LIVID!!!!!!!!!! And he knew it.

Got my stuff together and went to him and showed him all the stuff, and he apologized and said next time, I'll have all the correct facts BEFORE I react.

So Thursday April 29, I walked in put my purse down, walked to the bosses office and handed him an evelope and walked back to my room. His eyes were huge. He knew what it was, and he came out and said, "We're gonna miss you really bad, I hope you know." I said "It's time, way past time, actually"

Anyway, I feel really good about it and VERY peaceful. Thank the Lord!!!

Well, good for you! I'm glad you're getting to stay at home - not that it's a restful job with taking care of those boys (and CS). But you'll enjoy it! I love working at church, because I'm VOLUNTEER (woohoo!!) and I just go in when I want and can leave when I want - just so I get my work done. It's great!

So we can assume we'll be seeing alot more of you here on AFF?:ursofunn y

Seriously, tho! Good for you! I tell all my daycare mom's: "IF you can stay home and make it financially, DO IT! You will only get a short number of years with the children that God gave to you. Enjoy them all you can!"
