Seriously not once in Constitutional Law, not once in Legislation, never while I was at ta firm that deals exclusively with Constitutional law have I ever heard that you pass an amendment to pass an amendment. It doesn't work that way. The Amendment itself serves notice that things have changed. Unlike you bylaws the Constitution is difficult to Amend, that process the founders thought would be sufficient to protect us against serious changes in the Constitution.

Section 2 of Article IV persons "held to Service or Labour in one State, under the Laws thereof, escaping into another," meaning fugitive slaves, were to be returned to their owners.
Slaves must be returned to their owners. Property according to the Constitution. Doesn't matter how much you scream people are not property the Constitution said they were the 13th took that "property" away and the owners were given no compensation. was the 13th correct? In my view it was. but your argument about the 16th not being constitutional also kills the 12th and 13th.

That's the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. And that argument was HEATED when the Constitution was being written. It's why slavery was protected in the Constitution. (Article 1 section 2, Article 1 section 9, Article 4 section 2) It was a pretty spectacular compromise.
And, Thomas Jefferson was adamantly proslavery. His words created quite a ruckus through history all the way through to the civil right's movement.

To start with their is no such thing as an unconstitutional amendment. An amendment to the Constitution is by definition a changing or adding to of the Constitution.
Under the 16th Amendment when Congress passes a law determine what percentage of your income they will confiscate, that is the law that says you must pay. In addition to that the IRS under the Treasury Department is given the authority to collect those taxes.
The world is full of gullible tax protestors at the tax return level. It catches up with them and if they take money for dishonest advice, they do jail.
I have lost track of how many Docs I know that took a deduction because another Doc they knew said his CPA took it. They never say anything when they get audited and busted.

My old city incorporation codes even enumerated how many servants could dwell on my city property. But all of our homes allowed for no more than 1 family.
