Correction, it was full friday night. There were people in the foyer and other places standing because there wasn't room to sit in the sanctuary. This year was the first year that the church was filled to capacity. It is a very big church, to see it filled up is an incredible sight!!! The church seats 6000. I go there and know first hand.

Why is the platform so huge?

Interesting...
POA archived a service that Steve Willoughby preached a couple of Sundays ago. Excellent testimony to the grace of God.

J: Actually, it's not the first year it's been full to capacity. And seating capacity isn't 6000, sorry. The first year they had LM there it was standing room only on Fri night. I couldn't find a seat so I went home. Raven, I wasn't there so I can't say if it was or wasn't full on Fri night this year. It was about half full for the concert on Tue night.

Miz, you're right, the platform is huge! It's so big I'd bet the north and south ends are in different zip codes. I was there last recently and just couldn't understand why you'd want a platform that big. Everybody was so spread out that you seem disconnected from the people up there.

I was thinking the other night that maybe they made it so big that if the church grows they can turn it into a round platform and have more seats for the congregation where the choir now sings.

I wish there had been 10,000 there! I'm for the best "report" we can proclaim but I feel exaggeration is wrong. I've been there and also know very well some of the main contractors that built the building. It does not now, at this time, seat 6000. The old building on West Lane reportedly would seat 2400 but that also was an error. It would be jam packed at 1800! It really is a moot point and not worth an argument. If I find out I'm arguing with a young person or child I'm going to feel very foolish!
