Deserving or not, I have no idea...I am not boxing in anyone.

Thad, how can a preacher preach true and unadulterated separation and yet demand to drive a car that has chrome wheels, or leather, or a luxury name plate, etc...?

I have said before pastors with big names and in big cities (to whom most of this applies) can live in a castle and be driven around in a 24 carat solid gold Lexus limousine for all I care and really it is a blessing to them...it only becomes a problem if the cultural climate in his church is such that blue collar people feel like someone is taking their lamb to the slaughter while the minister's fields are full of sheep.

Hey, I've got a Jag. Anyone want to buy it? They are really not that expensive if you are buying an used one. They depreciate fairly fast. A new one would probably be in the 40,000 range. A fully loaded large size SUV can
be that much. The expense in a Jag is in the maintenance. If you have to have it repaired it can be expensive.

I just got a 2001 Jag with only 34,000 miles on it, the big one (Vanden Plas Edition) and I only paid $6,300 plus my old car that needed lots of work. The Jag is just like new inside and out, except for one little dent. It's loaded and
floats down the road. I hate it when people think it's a big deal because it's a Jag or a Mercedes; it costs a lot less than one of those big old trucks that men buy to hunt in!

Hmmm...I went to one UPC church for 13 years. It was a daughter work that we grew to over 400. Yeap! The whole time my family and I was there it was give all your tithes and all your offerings. Don't ask me how I spend them, either. None of your business!

It was preached that saints are not supposed to have any land or savings or investments! We are supposed to give all to God. (Although, God did not get it.) We can't take it with us he would say. Yet, he and his wife drive two $50,000 vehicles that they trade in every year. So the vehicles are never more than a year old. They live in a $1 million dollars home. Are always gone to every conference and we have to take up offerings to pay the visiting preachers.

The Jag was bought for him by CLC when he resigned to come to HQ.
