As my opening point I would like to reiterate that I have mentioned several times before that the part of Jeremiah 10 that I find pertinent is the portion that says "learn not the way of the heathen".

I do feel that this is still something the Lord desires of his people.

Also... In my personal reasoning that my convictions are based upon I don't feel that I need any scripture to stand on to feel the way I do.

All I need do is base the things that I do in remembrance and worship of my God on the Bible and shun anything outside the realm of that influence.

As I mention before, our reason for not doing x-mas have nothing to do with religion! I think the holiday should really be renamed, Consumer Day!

So when it comes to choosing, I choose not to play the game, or give in to guilt, nor put myself and family into hardship over a celebration that has little to do with anything!

Again, this is my view, you have the right to do whatever you want...

As you said Sister, they are nasty as nails when it comes to this festival.

Indeed... I think there is a possibility... but not a strong one...

It is certainly nothing that anyone could call clear cut.

Was this scripture used in your upbringing?

Were there other scriptures used on the subject of christmas/christmas trees etc?

Amen Sis, I just don't want anyone teaching my children that they are not good Christians (or Americans) if they don't celebrate the Yule tide.

At least they could make it plain, and admit that xmas is a made up holiday from Catholicism, and they just choose to celebrate it.

Sister it's the first letter in the title Christ, it has nothing to do with secularism.

How about totally made up out of thin air celebrations that are not mandated in the scripture? That have evolved through the ages to become excessive and outlandish. A golden calf set before God and approved by man's own human will.
