Ron Paul is a true American. One of the very few people who still remembers the Constitution exists. When he said he takes his marching orders from the Constitution, it was music to my ears. If you wonder why I'm voting for Obama instead of McCain, you need only look at how quickly Republicans shunned Ron Paul. You finally had a true Republican running for office and suddenly those who'd claimed to be true Republicans were attacking Ron Paul for being a kook. We quickly found out that the Republican Party is now nothing more than an arm of the Evangelical Right. 8 years and the government got bigger, spending went out of control, our money became even more unsound, interventionism abound, and religious authority became The authority. I wanted my country back, and Ron Paul would have done that. Instead, we got McCain......
Happy Clown, your line of reasoning is a piece of work. That's all I can say.
You are going to vote for Obama, the most liberal guy on the docket because the GOP didn't nominate your guy, the most conservative guy running in the GOP. There is absolutely no way that I can see the connection here. Now if you were voting for the guy RP is endorsing, that makes sense. Support for Bob Barker or whatever his name is, I could understand, he's pretty conservative. But Obama as a result of Paul? I don't get it.
That's like deciding to get married to man because your first wife left you for one.

So now all of the sudden America's intelligence community has credibility? Were they credible when they said that Hussein had WMDs back in 2001 and throughout the Clinton Administration?
Can't have it both was Mikey boy, can't have it both ways.
DB, we just have a difference of opinion. You believe that sending 100,000 troops to a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and fighting al-qaeda in Afghan/Pakistan with under 5,000 troops is a great idea.
Now your expecting all of us to believe that al-qaeda is somehow more comfortable with a candidate who has promised to refocus our efforts on destroying them while McCain digs in for decades in Iraq.
I think your logic is faulty but we can agree to disagree on who's more serious about finishing the actual war on terror.

Deacon, I appreciate the intelligence and sound reasoning in your posts.
You certainly have a lot more patience in dealing with irrational arguments than I do.
Bless you, my brother.

Mike you aren't paying attention to Mac's words, "We will hunt down Bin Laden to the gates of hell." Al-Qaeda knows first hand based on what Democrats do over what they say, they are much safer with a liberal Democrat in the Oval Office versus a Republican War Veteran, Former POW Naval Combat Fighter who knows the military and knows how to fight. He proved his military wisdom when he told Bush and Rumsfeld in the face of going against his own party that their battle plan was faulty and they needed more troops. The Surge proved McCain to have a savvy military mind.
Now you're expecting us all to believe that somehow Al-Qaeda gets uncomfortable with the promises of a candidate with no track record of anything military, who has been friends with Palestinian activists, and domestic terrorists and has the endorsement of Muslim terrorist groups like Hamas? You hate the GOP and Bush so much you are purposely not being honest with yourself.
And you think that Al-Qaeda is comfortable with McCain and the American military digging in for decades (a complete mischaracterization by the way)? Mac is committed to VICTORY, no matter how long it takes. Even Obama's "complete withdrawal plan" calls for leaving 55,000 troops in Iraq indefinitely.
You are fooling yourself if you think these guys are fearful of Obama, Pelosi and Reid. That's laughable.
And I doubt we will see in our lifetimes an actual finishing to the war on terror. How long has Israel been fighting it? It's not a conventional war, my friend, this is a religious and fanatic ideology. Its here and we'll have to be on guard probably until Jesus comes.

More evidence, for those willing to see the obvious...
Article: Al-Qaida sites show support for Obama
Monitor says terrorists wants Democrat to pull troops so they can 'claim victory'
The call this week by an al-Qaida leader for Allah to "humiliate" President Bush and the Republican Party in Tuesday's election was not the first tacit endorsement of Democrat Barack Obama by the terrorist network

I'm not sure why they'd think that. I personally think the last 5 years haven't been as hard as it should've been on the sect of Al-qaeda in Pakistan that planned and conducted 9/11. They simply moved across the border into the mountains of north Pakistan and set up shop again.
I'm sure they hate George Bush because he took the fight to them until March of 2003. My guess is that's why they don't support him or his party in this election. I doubt there planning on making nice with Obama if he wins.
Let me help you out on a couple of issues.
One the democrats consistently reduces our military strength.
Second, you can bomb our US Cole and the democrats want to a thing about it.
But you bomb our towers under a Repulican president and they will make you pay for it.

GWB didn't do anything about the USS Cole until after 9/11. Besides that there was no certainty about who conducted the attack on the Cole unitl after GWB took office.
I know the NeoCon line of thinking on things is to just start invading countries and lobbing bombs at bad guys, but it's usually a good idea to know who committed the attack before you respond.

Thank you.
And as far as military/security issues....it's stuff like this that makes our enemies such as Al Qaeda want to see Obama as president instead of McCain (see video):
