truth is ... that he openly admits fighting ... this urge ... and doing so for an extended period of time ... much like many who struggle againt a laundry list of sins ....

struggling does not equate to commiting the sin ...

Here is a quote from his Blade interview that blew this story open ...

Of course he's given up in his struggle against his personal temptations ... and for this he has made excuses and rationalizations...

yet you fail to make a valid case for your assumptions and blanket statements and can't dig out of the illogical hole you've dug yourself in ... again.
Your citations refute your own argument.

Just love when that happens.

When you receive the Holy Ghost, you are given victory over the power of sin. He's struggled with this since he was a kid. So, since he was a kid he hasn't had victory over this sin. Ergo, his stuff was performed under the weight of a lie. Matters of the heart don't get a pass.

He acknowledged he was gay and fought against it trying to change, rather than acknowledging he was without sin and fighting against gay feelings.

Of these little details and order of events mean nothing to you.

You have proven my point of your making of (to borrow from RRFord) asinine assumptions.

Who, oh all knowing Kettle, is involved in Tulsa that is living a lie?

C'mon now, I KNOW you wouldn't say something baseless and without merit.

OOps I am addressing jello...how could I forget?

I think with most Christian they tend to hide or cover up whats really going on inside themselves, for years (private sins), out of guilt or fear from other reactions right down to rejection!

I think this is what Ray meant, he had these feeling all his life, even as a child, it nothing new to him, he come to a crossroad with his homosexuality, sadly he taken the road that will lead to death. I believe he can find a yield in that path and get off, make it right. This does not mean he'll no longer have these feelings, it just means he'll need to denie them!

He has a big cross to carry, a decision to make, one that would not be easy, one that means spending life alone, as a single man.

It sounds easy, just stop these feelings!

Put yourself in their shoes, just think about it, spending the rest of your life without the love and intimacy or
companionship of a spouse.

Yeah I know this were we interject (God worth it!!)..Yes he is, still not easy thing to do. Think about how you feel for your spouse, now try not every letting yourself feel that way again! Never! Not easy thing to do, nor would I want to live my life denieing those feelings, the way I do towards my spouse!

I don't know if they are born like that or not, but one thing I do know, it's not easy one, most who walk away and marry the opposite sex due to pressures from others, tend to make that person life a nightmare. They can't give the love, they really don't feel it, so most these relationships end up in divorce, them going back into their sinful life worst then before. Leaving the rejected spouse even more confused and hurt, leaving them with many unresolved feelings.

So to be a Christian and homosexual, would mean making a choice, like any other sin, very much like the adulator, they need to decide, do I crossover and follow after my desire or do I denie myself, follow after Christ ????

Ray needs prayer! And understanding, but most of all he needs his brothers and sisters to be there to uphold him, be there in body to catch him if he make a detour on that path, heads back home!

Re: Ray Boltz????

Why is it that so many who focus on music are also in battles with homosexuality? Is it the extreme emotionalism in music that throws them offkey???

How many music ministers turned out to be gay? Not saying that music ministry is wrong..lolololol. It is just that MANY OF THEM seem to have a propensity towards this than those in other circles.

So you're denying God's ability to deliver a homosexual?

This thread has really done nothing but prove my first statement about the atmosphere in the Church regarding skeletons. Y'all wonder why things stay in the closet instead of being dealt with? Gee...let me see if I can figure it out.

I'm in no way abdicating Ray's personal responsibility for making this choice. I am, however, trying to point out that no one in their right mind would come out and admit to thoughts and feelings within the Church today. Not if they wanted to get out of that conversation without being skinned and thrashed.

Knowing you can't come out and say what's going on leaves a person vulnerable to letting things go beyond thoughts and desires to sin in a BIG WAY. And knowing that if ever admitting to the thoughts, or God forbid the actual action/sin, will blacklist you forever keeps people from reaching for the lifeline that the Church is supposed to be. Y'all wonder why people struggle for years and years and years and years, alone, and fall? I'm more in awe that he's struggled, alone, for years and years and years and years before he fell.

I have personally cast devils of homosexuality out of people. It is demonic. These things cannot simply be "healed" or overcome. Spirits make it more of an issue. Some may mock away, but I saw it is an issue of the demonic, first hand. It's too unnatural, anyway. Romans 1 makes it a severe sin. I honestly do not know if it can occur without demonic influence.

Or their way of asking for help! Not one I'd take.

This is sad, and should also open our eyes to the fact many people suffer in silence.
