Um,...PP...Let's try this again.

She did not "declare" anything. She was requesting prayer on behalf of the troops and her son. Again... did you see the tape?
Did you click on the link I posted?

I provided you the direct quote, and the link to see/hear it yourself, yet you still continue to repeat this falsehood. Why?

PP... don't even go there. You've seen my posting style long enough to know that "rude and insulting" is not my style. However, I am blunt when it's called for. And I was blunt in my previous post, for good reason. Nobody insulted you . If you feel insulted, that feeling is frankly unwarranted. You slandered the woman by calling her a liar... and I called you on it. It is what it is.

You blatantly called the woman a liar... even though she did not lie. I explained to clearly that why what she said was not a lie. And I stated that you are woefully uninformed on this matter. If you're insulted by being told you are uninformed, that's tough, brother... but it's true. You are uninformed, on this. At least maybe you WERE uninformed, before I provided the full quote in context (which Charlie Gibson/ABC and the news media have not done). But now you really have no excuse. You've seen the direct quote and you're still claiming she "declared" it was a war from God, which is simply untrue. As I said, even the most elementary comprehension of the language can see that she was not "declaring" anything". What she said on Gibson's show is completely in line with what she said at her church. That's not that hard to see, unless perhaps for some reason you refuse to see it. .

So I must ask you this question: "do you always speak with such disregard for the truth, even when someone takes the time to present it to you plainly"? .
--------
As a matter of fact, maybe I should provide the quotes here again... The one she made on her church, as well as the one she made on Gibson's show. (You might want to compare the two quotes carefully.):

"Pray for our military. He's gonna be deployed in September to Iraq. Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for -- that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan. So Bless them with your prayers, your prayers of protection over our soldiers. "

On ABC:
PALIN: But the reference there is a repeat of Abraham Lincoln's words when he said -- first, he suggested never presume to know what God's will is, and I would never presume to know God's will or to speak God's words.

But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that's a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God's side.
That's what that comment was all about, Charlie.

Sarah doesn't lack experience and qualifications as to the job description...........she lacks experience in having to deal with the ugliness of the liberal media. I wouldn't wish that on anyone! I think she has done an excellent job under the circumstances of facing and standing up to the liberal media. She can only get better............and may God give her the grace and ability to do so...........I don't mind saying that I am praying for her. She is the BEST choice that we have!
Great post contender. I'd like to see LIGHT and Pastor poster in an interview after going through a week of what the media has put Sarah through. She is great.

That's right, Pastor Poster. And because he does seem to be more friendly and compassionate than most of the liberal media, I was glad he was doing the first interview.

I was very disappointed in him. It was very obvious he doesn't care for her. Or maybe it's her conservative agenda he doesn't like.

At any rate, he's just like the rest of the liberal media............he's running scared. Guess he couldn't show himself too friendly to her. He couldn't open up the door to make her feel comfortable.

Context is everything.

Thanks, TRFrance, for posting this transcript. It's easier to decide what she meant by reading it and studying it.

Notice the word 'also', which means likewise, or in addition to. She had just requested that the church pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. ALSO, or LIKEWISE, (pray) for this country, (that) our leaders, (that) our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God. She goes on to say .......we have to make sure that we're praying for......a plan and that that plan is God's plan.

Sounds like a good prayer request to me!

God have mercy on the USA, if your boy Hussain get's in I agree. Did anyone see him on the The Ellen Degeneres show? It was downright sickening. He came in swinging his hips just like Ellen. Then there was the San Francisco woman who referred to Sarah as the GOP Phonographic centerfold. I agree with a pastor who said, I question anyone's walk with God that would vote for Obama.

By the way, I don't watch her I ran onto it on : Ellen Degeneres and Obama on youtube - Google Search

And thank you for your insightful post Sarah.

What's disapponting to me, (although probaly not surprising) is that ABC/Charlie Gibson had access to this same transcript just as you and I do. (As a matter of fact, the video is all over youtube.) Yet they chose to use a slice of that paragraph, giving a distorted impression of what she said. .

They took a request [for prayer], and made it seem like a declaration [that Iraq was a war from God]. Very, very misleading on their part.

And I actually lost a bit of respect for Charlie Gibson too.

This is just another reason why you cant trust the media. When people tell me there is no liberal bias in the mainstrem media, I just shake my head, because I know better than to believe that nonsense.

Re: Sarah Palin Interview Tonight!

I don't normally cut and paste but I heard this on on TV yesterday.

Palin may have been a boost of political Viagra for the limp, bloodless GOP (and according to an ABC/Washington Post poll she has created a boost in McCain’s standing among white women to a 53 over Obama’s 41). But ideologically, she is their hardcore pornographic centerfold spread, revealing the ugliest underside of Republican ambitions — their insanely zealous and cynical drive to win power by any means necessary, even at the cost of actual leadership.

Sarah Palin is a bit comical, like one of those cutthroat Texas cheerleader stage moms. What her Down syndrome baby and pregnant teenage daughter unequivocally prove, however, is that her most beloved child is the antiabortion platform that ensures her own political ambitions with the conservative right. The throat she’s so hot to cut is that of all American women.

I don’t want Sarah Palin being the representative leader and custodian of my rights, my Constitution and my country any more than I want polygamist compound leader Warren Jeffs baby-sitting for my preteen goddaughters.

As a woman who does not believe what Palin believes, the thought of such an opportunistic anti-female in the White House — in the Cheney chair, no less — is akin to ideological brain rape. What this Republican blowup doll does with her own insides in accord with her own faith is her business. But, like the worst and most terrifying of religious extremists, she seems very comfortable with the idea of imposing her own views on everyone else.

I did not think that women being downgraded to second-class, three-holed chattel would be a pressing concern in my lifetime. I thought it was like polio, or witch burning — an inhumane error that had already been corrected. But after eight years of Republican hegemony, and now the potential ascendance of this sheep in ewe’s clothing, I am so mortally offended I feel like it is really time for women to be angry, hardcore and disgusted again.

How many of us could put up with this and appear relaxed while being intervied by the enemy? Pray for her as you've never prayed before.

Using what you posted she is saying the Iraq war is from God. Her direct quote is "BUSH is sending the troops to a war that is from God".
