Re: Obama: 'Lipstick on a pig' comment. Not Smart.
I find it kind of funny how scared Obama is of Palin. And McCain purposely or not did a great job selecting her for VP.

I think she's been a boost to his campaign way beyond his wildest expectations. I dont think ANYBODY, Democrat or Republican, foresaw this.
I don't think any VP in history has ever had this effect on an election campaign.

My husband says Obama will get angrier as he goes along. I have further revelation about this dangerous man. I'll post it later under the appropriate thread.
Re: Obama: 'Lipstick on a pig' comment. Not Smart.
Yawn.....
That saying has been around in the south forever. "You can put lipstick on a pig, but(whatever someone is trying to portray or dress up, is still something else). Obama pointed to the fact that McCain has no record of being a change agent. I thought it was a well made point and a funny play on Palin's words.
I think the attacks on her religious views are below the belt. They are unacceptable and have no place in politics.
Aside form that, Sarah Palin will be welcomed to the big stage of politics just like McCain, Obama and any other person seeking the highest offices in the land has been. I don't understand why the pig comment would be anything out of the ordinary.

Because she used in when she talked about the difference in a Pit Bull and a Hockey Mom. Even the Democrats thought there was intent.

There was definitely intent to play on the words of Palin. He basically said that all of the change was being promised by McCain/Palin and then went on to list all of the similarities of Bush and McCain/Palin and that a pig with lipstick was still a pig.
Obama wasn't personally calling Sarah Palin a pig or anything of that nature. That would include some huge leaps and stretches.

Sorry, he was stupid for saying what he said after the Republican Convention. It was intent to many listeners.

I don't believe that was his intent to call her a pig, BUT to make the lipstick reference as to pull the rug out from under her (being like a pit bull).
